A hurricane at the German coast of the Baltic Sea as well as in parts of Great Britain has caused gusts and floods.
A man who was outside with his dog (Why didn't he stay at home? The dog could have been driven/swept away!) . He filmed a rare spectacle in a forest. The force of the hurricane lifted the upper part of the soil!
Watch this:
(I'm sorry, I don't know how to eliminate the advertising. It's very short, though. When the ad starts, you'll see the sentence 'Weiter zum Video'. Click there and you'll be able to watch the spectacle.)
Das Sturmtief, das an der deutschen Ostsee wütete, hat auch in Teilen Großbritanniens für Orkanböen und Überflutungen gesorgt. In einem Wald filmte ein Hundebesitzer ein Naturspektakel.

How awful! The soil lifting up from the ground was certainly wild. I hope everyone is safe and sound. I would not have taken my precious dogs out in the flood. Have a good week. P. S. It's good to see you, Maluse!!!

That's what I had to think, too. The man could also have been injured by falling branches.
When there was a hurricane in the area where I live some years ago, it was strictly forbidden to be in the forest even for some days after the hurricane was over. Only the people of the fire brigade were allowed to get in to clear the paths and they all wore helmets..

The video is very impressive to see, but like you, I feel the dog could have been safer at home.

I never think of there being hurricanes in the Baltic, we get a lot of them in the US.

That looks horrible. I’m glad that the dog is okay.

The weather has been very nasty for us as well as many European countries. Some people just do not use common sense & willfully go out in these conditions. Their skull must be a hollow void as their brains must be missing!
We experienced the horrible Hurricane in England in 1987 that devastated much of the South East.
We woke up during the height of the storm. It was frightening having to go into work in the dark that morning many staff could not get into the hospital. I had to cover 5 wards for a few hours until staff managed to get in.When l left work in the afternoon the reality of the devastation hit me. All the beautiful trees hundreds of years old were blown down, houses wreaked roofs missing.
It is awful to see such flooding!
