Do not like to occupy personal time

China
October 23, 2023 8:49am CST
I finished work at 5 o'clock today, but the boss said we had a meeting, which ended up taking up one and a half hours of my personal time until 6:30.Do you often encounter such situations in your work?

@zhangxueying I worked with my husband. When you work for yourself you do not count the hours.

How did you make yourself accept it? If there is overtime pay, I can accept it, haha

Never as I am retired but when I was working, yes, I had to do whatever I was required to do and like it too to get cash.

@zhangxueying Yes I understand. In my job that I had..doing hairdressing, it did not matter how many hours or paid or not paid..I made my own income from tips..and good ones. So I was always making my own money for overtime, whether company paid or not. Good thing about tips.

We are also illegal, but most of the time there is no supervision, and the government's inaction makes us workers feel helpless

No, at any job I had, the meetings were held during work time. The places didn't want to pay overtime for us to stay for meetings.
