MOTHER NATURE ALWAYS AMAZES ME!

Twenty years ago I took a 'twig' of about 4 inches from a 'Christmas' cactus at a neighbor's apartment and here it is 2023 in full bloom in 3 different colors. Okay, I added other 'twigs' but even though all were from 'Christmas' cactus the name is wrong! This plant (I consider them all one plant) has blooms 10 out of 12 months starting in September for the Jewish holidays and every holiday until the week after the 4th of July weekend and then takes a 'break' for 7 weeks to get ready to stun me for ALL the coming holidays, including special blooms on February 29 every 4 years! There are at least 15 'kids' made from THIS plant in 15 different homes around the STATES! It is the easiest plant to grow--all I do is water it once a week, throw it a kiss and it GROWS AND BLOOMS! I love my---now called--Holiday Cactus!

I remember my grandmother's Christmas cactus. She had it in the window sill where she did the dishes. It was a lovely plant. It must be 50+ years old now.

That’s why I like my snake plant. I give it three ice cubes every week and it’s happy.
