Sunday Night Update

Hey everyone, how are you all doing? Well hopefully. I am sort of numb I guess you could say. A lot in shock. Missing my grandparents. If you hadn't seen my earlier post, my grandparents both passed away this morning, a half an hour apart. My grandma got her wish and they rode off into the sunset together (well I guess the sunrise). The nurse showed up and got things going on getting the funeral home people to come get them, and then we ended up going to my mom's house for most of the day after that. Would have been hard to stay in their empty house. The nurse took it pretty hard too, she got to know them pretty well since she was taking care of my grandpa for close to 2 years. I think she was shocked with how fast my grandma went too... Tomorrow we will be going to the funeral home to discuss the service, and other things. Maybe that should just be for their kids to take care of, but my mom wants me there for support. That's all I really have to say for tonight. I really just can't believe that they are both gone.... Sharing this photo again, I want to get a better picture to share of them, but I have no digital ones really. My grandma never liked having her picture taken!

Exhale. You've been through a tough stretch. Give yourself time. The numbness will subside. Hug your boys and tell them you love them. Hold on to all the good memories and let the rest go. You'll have some tough days ahead but you're strong and will get through it fine. My thoughts are with you and your family, Courtney.

It's been a rough month, with both of their illnesses getting worse and wondering how we could take care of them, and so on.... Once they got on hospice things went by faster....

@tammys85 I am exhausted from the long day, emotionally though I don't really know at the moment how I am doing.
