When should we be our self, and when should we not be our self?

Follow love and your life will start to stack itself rightly up for God

We all have a unique personality, a certain power, and disposition, of mind, and even a certain body type. We have a soul, anchored in love, and in God. At certain times in our lives, though, we need to go against our natural inclinations, as being directed by our inherent personality, and mind/body type. We need to reach higher, and to do what God requires of us in the situation. Our soul is bonded to God, created by God, for fulfilling his purpose for it. We need to stay awake to the calling of our soul, for us to fulfil its purpose in our life for God. Love reaches into all parts of you, into your soul, mind, body, heart, and personality self, and this is why from each part of you, you must love God, in return. This makes you a full vehicle for love, and a beacon from which love pours forth from too. Our character is made whole by loving God wholely, and it has holes in it, when we neglect loving God, for our following of our own worldly ways, and desires, instead. We should be our real self, our soul, our higher self, then, and not think that we are merely our lower self, our body/mind self instead. We need to acknowledge who we really are, and not distance ourselves from that true self, of ours "If you seek peace, be still. If you seek wisdom, be silent. If you seek love, be yourself." This is a quote by the Australian writer, Becca Lee. I can easily answer this..when we should not be ourselves, is when we must protect ourselves.

Yes, we do need to protect ourselves at times, being careful what we do, and in how we act, even though we have the protection of God at all times, we do need to be attentive to potential danger ourselves too. On the other hand, we should not become "bad" people just to protect ourselves either. "Be firm in your resolutions. Stay in the boat the God that has placed you in, and when the storm comes, you will not perish." A quote from Saint Padre Pio (1887 to 1968). We need to keep our faith even when we find ourselves within dangerous waters.

@RebeccasFarm Yes, I agree, and faith is strengthened if we love God, enough to have that faith in him too.

Yes, we all face challenges in our lives, and it is our real self that is best suited to be able to handle them, as our real self is connected to God, and so also to his love, strength, and truth.

I agree. Until we learn to love God, we will never be what He intended for us.

Yes, without our loving God, we will live shallow lives, not expanded by love blossoming in us, and developing us into who God meant us to be. "The storms that are raging around you will turn out to be for God’s glory, your own merit, and the good of many souls." A quote from Saint Padre Pio, (1887 to 1968) His quote is true for all those who love God, and who are true in their living of their lives for God.

Very good point for us to follow love and gratitude and the best that life has to offer will come from God.

Yes, thanks, we can only be our best self, when we are being that best self for God too.

The distractions to stray away from love and connection to our creator are many. We need to remind ourselves to stay the course. When we do so, our journey here is well worth it not only for ourselves but for others too.

Yes, just to make a living, and to handle the stresses of life is hard for most of us to do, and yet we neglect oiling our lives with love, as supplied to us by that master mechanic, God. Our lives will go more smoothly with the oil of love stopping its squeaks, and squeals, and other complaints, that both upset ourselves, and others too. Yes, we can be journeymen with God, and this makes our lives worthwhile.

@Shiva49 Some folks do go overboard, and claim more rights than what they are entitled to, though. We all have a right to exist, but no one should try to exist more rightly than others, at the expense of other's rights too.

@innertalks The lack of love is palpable when we see the war cries in many parts of the world. Some leaders are spoiling for a fight to keep alive issues that are better put behind as they have no relevance to the common folks. What is the benefit of denying others their right to existence?
