Time Change After School

This is a photo at 4:10. All the kids who walk and a lot of the bus kids are home by that time. Now it's 5:00 and still light. This is why I am happy to set my clock back. By the end of November, we'll lose about 40 minutes of day light both am and pm. Daylight Saving Time does not work in the winter.

I wish somebody would simply put a stop to these stupid time changes. Falling back or springing forward is no longer necessary, we've got the internet

I agree that this is a better time change but couldn't they simply move the time 30 minutes between the 2 and leave it that way?

I can't agree. My first picture today was at 7 am which would have been 8:00 am Yesterday. Too dark for kids waking to school as that's the time they're arriving. And we'll loose 40 more morning minutes by the end of November. This picture is at 4:10 pm. Kids are home by then and still a bit of light This time change is better for the kids.

It is a big adjustment every single year. I never get used to it.

I do not think we such be setting our clocks forward or backwards. Just leave them on the same time year around.

I can't agree. Because the people supporting not changing the clocks are promoting staying on Daylight Saving Time year round Daylight Saving Time does not work in the winter.

You do realize that it was 5:10 before the time change. Which means they were all home while there was still more daylight.

That's why I posted about the morning and after school. Falling back gives them some daylight to get to school and to get home. It still has most of the light after school.

Isn’t this the last time we have the time change? I think that’s what was said last year.

No, if they had finished the vote on it we would not have changed the time now. But the vote was never finished.

In winter it is dark in the morning and dark early in the evening. At least now there is a little light at 8 a.m. when kids go to school, we should go back to winter time as soon as schools start.

Wouldn't it make sure kids make it home from their after-school activities in the "almost" daylight? In Winter, I mean.

You’re right. It’s so dangerous for school kids of any age to wait for buses in the dark or to walk to and from school in it.
