What did you do with spare sanitizers...after COVID.

So ... a lot of sanitizers are there in cupboard. Which is being cleaned and well, it is hard to discard those. Why did I buy so much? About 9 bottles. Two or three came free with some handwash. Others I did buy for regular use during COVID times because these two or three could not be carried around...sprays... so well....now I am staring at these bottles and sprays. What did you do with those, and how can they be used, if at all. I haven't the heart to throw them. But I wouldn't want COVID back either. Any suggestions?

But Anna, we have not heard of a single case in months and nobody uses it anymore. My cousin came this April, she did not use it. And she is a physician. We went to temple three months ago, we did not use it. Neither did the passengers. Nobody used in the temple, and India is a crowded country.

@vandana7 I talked with my doctor, she still see 4 cases every day. Of course people stopped testing themselves so most people do not even know that they are contaminated. I do not take risks. I sanitize even the handle of the supermarket kart before using it.

I never bbought so many. But I have heard that covid is just around the corner. And people have to stay as clean as possible. We have mutations of the covid here. And many people have had it twice. Vaccines help but it is not enough. Use your sanitizers.

@vandana7 My daughter went to Brazil a couple of month ago for a congress and came back happy and with a high fever. On checking, she discovered that she had covid. For the second time. And in spite of the vaccines.

I didn’t go out and buy a lot at the beginning, but I’d just keep them since you’ll still be cleaning here and there. Covid is still around here though, and while I’m not wearing masks and constantly sanitizing things, plenty of people are. The worst is over, and we’ve built up immunities, but it’s still lurking. People sure aren’t testing like they used to either.

In India, we have become kinda free of covid, or maybe we all have been victims of it in one way or the other, and therefore, there is some sorta herd immunity.

You were panic buying! That happened a lot with toilet rolls at the beginning of lockdown! You could donate them to charity or to a food bank. It's not just food people in need want. Failing that maybe you could donate them to a hospital? Just a few ideas there.

@vandana7 Ah, I see. Because of the panic buying sometimes in the shops you couldn't find a toilet roll! I'm glad you have decided to donate your spare sanitizers to.a hospital. I'm sorry your charities are not so clean - maybe that's why they need a sanitizer! I'm sorry you do not have any food banks. They are a good idea to help those who cannot afford to buy food. Yes, hospitals will definitely use them.

@sharonelton They wouldn't use them I think. Kinda, when some of the bottles are open, they might think they are contaminated.

Covid hasn’t gone away so I have still got a decent supply in and take one with me everywhere. Using public toilets is a nightmare because so many dirty b*tards, don’t wash there hand. Does my head in.

Is it only our city? But I did go to Shirdi a couple of months ago. Nobody in train wore masks or used sanitizers. My cousins who are physicians arrived from the US, they did not wear masks nor use sanitizers. I have been to temples. I have been to hospitals. The doctors and staff there...did not use masks and sanitizers. Should I get dad to take another shot...it might be worth it...given such a lot of neglect all around.

@vandana7 People in the UK aren’t wearing masks (well, some never stopped) but covid is still around. Not as deadly as before, but enough to make you feel unwell. I think it’s a good idea to carry sanitizer anyway. Especially if you like to take sandwiches for a packed lunch or you pick your nose.

@Vandana7 Even me don't want to throw it away . My kid asked me that for playing purpose. Will any father give these to his children? I said no to her & these are not playable things. Then , I don't know what to do with that , so one day I put it in a dustbin bag & threw it away.

I have decided to use them, and those that have not been opened up at all, will be donated to some hospital. That way ..these things are used instead of going into dustbin.

@vandana7 Yes. My mom was infected this year. She felt awful. She didn't wear a mask or anything and she was infected. I know someone who has Covid now. He can't talk because he is feeling bad.

That is a great idea. Bathroom especially. Kitchen...I would be a tad skeptical because sanitizers may have some other chemicals.

I have been using hand sanitizers since many years ago, and will continue to use them after I have touched a common surface while shopping, a door handle, a shopping cart and so on. They will always be useful come cold/flu/covid season to add an extra level of protection for when we cannot wash our hands properly with soap and water.

I have 2 friends right now with active Covid. One is pretty darn sick. I have extra handsoap and sanitizer. They aren't going to spoil for years and years. I remember how hard we had to look for them when the pandemic started, I will just be keeping what I have. If you really do have a lot of extra, schools, daycare facilities, nursing home places--all might take them.
