It Takes China to Move a Democrat

Just keep that in mind, folks. Do you matter to the democrats? Are you important? Or, perhaps, Xi Jinping is who matters most. Don't think so? Just ask California Governor Gavin Newsome. In fact, he pretty much even said it. Clean up the city? Nah. Why bother? If San Francisco is a literal you-know-what hole, who cares about the citizens? Who cares about the American people? Priorities, you know. So, you wait until Xi Jinping will be in town to clear homeless encampments, polish the streets, clean up graffiti, and add in artsy murals and decorate the crosswalks, remove trash and debris and whatever else they did to make San Francisco appear to China's leader as a place regular Americans aren't important enough to see. Perhaps it was just that Xi Jinping didn't download the app for his phone to locate the poop piles all over the streets before he'd come through—and God forbid China's leader have to chance stepping into what literally the people of San Francisco have to step through on a daily basis. People should be appalled, and they are. And rightfully so. If you think your city is an embarrassment, how come it took Xi Jinping to come into town to finally admit it? After so many have said it for so long only to have it fall on deaf ears? There is also an interesting unanswered question in all of this. Where are the homeless people he removed? And what's he going to do? Once Jinping is back in China just put them all back and restore San Francisco to the filth it was before? And what will that say to the people who have to live there? How does it make the citizens feel like they are the city's priority? And by the way, isn't what made San Francisco what it is, predicated on all those wonderful policies democrats talk about? If the policies worked, wouldn't they want to show Jinping the wonderful and awesome progress they made rather than hide the truth of what their policies produced? It is almost as if this is sort of an admission that what they are doing is not working and actually embarrassing. "Let's get this mess we've made cleaned up. For Heaven's sake, we can't let CHINA see this."

I have a funny feeling that there is more going on backstage than anyone can see or predict and unfortunately people will be suffering due to this,,

I really want to know what they did with the homeless people they removed and what they will do with them when Xi Jinping returns to China? They have literally made their homeless pawns. It's sad on so many levels. "We support you. We just don't want you to be seen when it matters." HOW is that a good thing? HOW does that look good? What does that say to the people they supposedly support? The optics are really bad here.

What I don't understand is if they had the ability and resources to clean everything up *now* why didn't they do it before?

A very astute question. Why don't you ask your caucus? Or perhaps you would know more about the answer if you spent more time researching the woes and faults of your side rather than simply looking into all the woes and faults of my side. Not busting your chops, but you even said once you thought Newsome might make a good president. Despite the entire disaster that is California. It seems, based on your comment, you admit San Francisco, at least, is an abject failure as a city—how do you not make the connection that democrats are at the root of all of San Franscisco's mess? Like I said, that's a great question. I will give you the answer in very simple terms. They are democrats. Everything they touch goes to hell. Their cities are run down. And quite frankly, they simply do not care. And CLEARLY they knew the situation they created was not right BEFORE Xi Jinping was coming. Why fix it now just to make the disaster they created look like it never happened?

@NJChicaa Then you CAN'T vote. I live a LONG way from Florida, but if Ron DeSantis wants my vote for president, I HAVE to know how he will lead the country based on how he led FLORIDA. Otherwise, I cannot have an opinion. Casting a vote for Newsome without knowing how he performed in California would be irresponsible and careless on your part. The same goes for Biden. I am not a democrat. But in order to KNOW I disagree with him, I HAVE to know about how he performed as a senator and what the did right or wrong or otherwise. We'll have to agree to disagree on your false analysis about red states vs. blue states. I have explained before WHY it's not true. But that's okay if you don't accept it. Look at ANY LARGE CITY IN THE UNITED STATES RUN BY DEMOCRATS. All sh*tholes. Crime ridden, poverty stricken, run down, boarded up buildings. Baltimore, Milwaukee, Chicago, East Saint Louis...you name it. Going back to Newsome. What exactly makes you think he would be a good candidate if you know NOTHING about him or how he runs his own state, or how he ran San Francisco when he was mayor? On what basis would you consider him to be a good candidate? Anyway...

@NJChicaa You missed the point of my comment—as per the usual. In order to vote in the macro you have to be able to see what happens in the micro, because it all matters. In the micro, all the things happening in the little picture are what will likely happen in the bigger picture, and should help to better align yourself with what your party really wants to do. Like UBI for trans people in San Francisco. Maybe that's a trial run for some form of UBI nationwide? And do you want to vote for that? On top of that when you see a democrat on stage talking about combatting poverty, how come you won't ask them to show proof that their policies actually work to combat it? Because it doesn't take a lot of research to see a few things here that should put up some red flags. 1) Since FDR introduced welfare, poverty has grown immensely. 2) Under democrat leadership poverty levels rise, not fall. 3) In most democrat run cities, poverty levels remain alarmingly high. These things, among others. It should make you question whether they are selling you a solution or if they are just selling you a bill of goods.

So basically the U.S. is counting on someone else to take care of our people and clean up our messes. And, you wonder why today's youth are so entitled.

@porwest I wish we could, but we really can't. We have to try.

@kaylachan It all comes down to how much we allow ourselves to know, how honest we can be about what is going on, and how responsible we are when we go to the polls.

The entire country is in a real mess right now. I don't know if we can ever truly right the ship, but I guess we will have to wait and see.

@RebeccasFarm It is. But what can you do? It's the world we live in, and a lot of people seem to be okay with it.

Beyond weird. But yes. I agree on the "engineered" part. So long as you need them, they have power and control over your life. And they make sure to keep as much power and control as possible.

It is disgusting, citizens who PAY taxes are the priority. They should have the right to see a clean city with no graffiti every day. It is a shame to "hide" the problems always and only when there are "important" (??!!) visitors. Who did they move the homeless? What is going to happen to them?

It's a pity that San Francisco has become such a hell hole. I remember going there 20+ years ago; and it was a beautiful, vibrant, busy, busy city.

@porwest Whatever. All I know is that it's a shame when a city gets to this point.

@LindaOHio All I know is that when a city gets to this point it has had 50 years or so of democrats running it. Don't believe me? Look it up. Any poor city you find, they are all run by democrats. ALL of them.

I know you won't like my response, but 20 years ago California was largely a republican state. That's why all of it was better.

I know what you mean since I have seen how the city of San Francisco looks like a junkpile. It makes me laugh that vlogger Liberal Hivemind on You Tube has stated that politicians do not care for the welfare of the people until enough people raise their voices and demand action.
