It Is Rare

I am not a brand name guy. It's just a thing with me. But at the same time, if I see a deal I am going to take advantage of it. I was "instructed" to provide the chips and dip for our Thanksgiving gathering tomorrow. So, I bought two bags of rippled chips and had two bags of Kroger Cool Ranch and Nacho flavored chips in my cart. Until I saw a sale for Doritos brand for 4 for $9. At first, I didn't think anything of it. The cost for the Kroger brand was $2.29 each. Something told me to do the math, so I did. And the Doritos brand came out to be 4 cents per bag cheaper at $2.25 per bag. It was win, win. Not only did I get the brand name for cheaper, but I also own stock in Pepsico. I will keep two bags for myself to enjoy and supply the other two bags. I bought two bags of Cool Ranch and two bags of Nacho Cheese. On top of it all, when I show up with an actual brand name product to contribute, I am sure multiple family members might pass out. I'd say it was a pretty good deal. That being said, I feel no guilt in hoarding the other two bags to stuff into my own face.

lol. It was practically a steal to boot. I mean, getting a bag of genuine Doritos for under $4?

@porwest I've gotten the smaller size ones for 2 for $5 before. And I thought that was great. You know, before Covid and Biden's attack on the oil industry, you could consistency get the regular size ones on sale for $1.99. Same with Cheese Its.

@dgobucks226 I never can get those smaller bags and make the cost sit well with me. But this was an awesome deal I just couldn't pass up considering I was going to buy that style of chips anyway. I also do remember those chips being much cheaper...but then at that time I was paying 89 cents a bag for the generic ones.

@porwest When I was in 1st grade I broke my arm. I had a cast on for weeks. The kid I sat next to used to dump his Dorito crumbs onto my cast each day. That was the end of Doritos for me.

@NJChicaa I guess that's why I hate oranges. Can't stand the smell of them. My teachers always smelled like oranges, and I hated teachers. So, now I hate oranges. lol
