Why should you keep your promises?

I still remember when I was a child. One of my uncles gave me a crucifix pendant. He said if I finished high school, he would give me something special. When it did happen, I tried to show this thing. Unfortunately, he cannot remember it or what he promised. So, I just kept it and learned something from it. That is, never give promises to a young child. If you do promise something, you need to do it. Can you relate to this situation? Image Credit: howto.co.uk

A promise should be kept if at all possible. It’s the right thing to do.

I agree. It is a sad thing that some people cannot keep their promises. I think they should be sensitive about this concern because it can make them less trustworthy.

I can relate to many broken promises from my youth. It caused me to do my best to keep my promises. Did I keep all of them? I know I didn't. But I tried.

I remember my youngest sister lied to her children all the time..she never came through for her fake promises to them when they were little. As a result of this, they are very bitter and no longer speak to their Mother.

I know someone who promised me a lot of things, but he couldn't keep his promises. It's disappointing.
