Curious to what the average budget is like on here Are you guys just frugal cause you’re anti-consumerist and have plenty of money to spend and just don’t? Or are you living paycheck to paycheck. Curious as to if this is a need or just a moral choice saying you don’t need that new phone out of principle. I’d love to see your responses.

I live well, well below my means and have always been this way. When I want to splurge I can and it's not an issue. I pay myself a salary and it is based on what I need and has nothing to do with how much I have or how much I make. It has worked out very well for me. Saving, investing and being frugal have been strong tenets of my life.

We are frugal as we try to only ever get what we really need. That allows us to live off our savings sometimes and travel, volunteer or help family when we can. We cook fresh healthy food every day and mostly avoid restaurants and fast foods. We've no medical expenses and do not need medical insurance. We try to use public transport as much as possible. We only buy new tech items if something breaks or cannot function as we need it to. We only buy the clothes we need and keep it a long time. We do not ever buy into fashion. All of that being said, it is a lot of work to make the choice between need or want and cheaper vs expensive. We try to balance as best we can. For us its not anti-consumerism thing. We do consume, we would not be alive if we did not, we just try not to make it the be all and end all of our existence.
