This is one of the famous lines of one of the characters in TV shows produced by Norman Lear which some may laugh at and others would be shocked. His shows contained shocking dialogue that was daring for it's time. And outrageous characters like George Jefferson who crazily teased Tom and Helen Willis calling them vanilla and chocolate and Zebras. He was an icon and hit producing machine of many number one TV shows. All of my favorite shows especially Good Times, Sanford and son, Maude, and the Jeffersons. I still watch these shows til this day and do believe I've seen every episode at least four times. He was revolutionary, groundbreaking, shall I dare say sexy. Norman Lear was the Bravest producer ever. But he was not 100 percent without controversy as writers accused him of taking their ideas and not paying them fairly for their work. The popular writer Eric Monty sued and won a million dollar suit for his royalties, but maintained he should've gotten much more. Many of his shows come with a warning viewer discretion is advised when they are aired today. Yes, Norman Lear was revolutionary. Here's lookin' at ya norm. You'll Surely be missed.

@db20747 That is true since many comedians today will admit that jokes they made during the time that the shows played would be considered offensive today which bothers them.

@Deepizzaguy yes and because of their personalities people still liked them. Thanks for your reply to this post. I had to change the title about five times to get a response. Had to be careful what lines I quoted.Thought this would be on the no response list.
