We have this rat that eats up food from the cats' bowl when we are not around. There is a poison - Ratol - that is meant to kill them. But this one relishes the banana that has the Polson placed in it We have successfully gotten rid of mice using this method earlier but it has no effect on this rat I am helpless.

Wow, it must be a huge rat for the poison to have not killed it.

I do not know the solution sorry. Is there anyone there that could be called an exterminator?

Maybe using mouse glue is more effective, they can't walk anywhere anymore when they step on the glue.

It sounds like you're dealing with a rather resilient and cunning rat! Rats are known for their adaptability and ability to avoid various traps and poisons. Here are a few suggestions you might consider: 1. Change the Bait 2. Seal Entry Points 3. Seek Professional Help

I will attempt the first two but seeking professional help is far fetched where I live. Thank you.

The poison may have expired. When I was a kid, we had a cat. She was really good at chasing rats and keeping them away. You may also use mouse traps.

We have 3 thoroughly spoilt cats (lol) You may be right. The poison is old.

This is an interesting story, I think setting traps will be the best way to catch rats.

My sister has a lot of rats in their barn and they eat a lot of poison in a week too. However, it does seem to keep the numbers down a little.
