Day 153 Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, 12 teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, 13 looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, 14 who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works. (NKJV) Many people don’t believe in God or anything religious. They go through life believing in their own philosophy of life: you’re born, and you die. It’s only what they do while they live that matters. Paul told Titus that God brought salvation to all people. Not a select few, but to all people. He told Titus that God’s grace taught them that denying ungodliness and worldly lusts caused them to live soberly, righteously, and godly in that time as they looked for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of their great God and Savior, Jesus Christ. He told Titus what God’s purpose was—to redeem them from the law and every lawless deed and purify for Himself a people zealous for good works. In the world today, you have many religions that teach many things that take away what God did for mankind. However, when you sift through the religions of the world, you find God and His plan of salvation for everyone who would believe in Him. Many Christians have trouble believing in what they confessed because so many religions look good and profess good things. Yet they aren’t good because they don’t lead the person to God and His ultimate purpose for them, salvation through Jesus Christ, His Son. Only when Christians embrace God’s purpose for their lives will they forsake ungodliness and worldly lusts and live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present age while looking for Jesus’ glorious return. They will know the power of God’s salvation when Jesus gave Himself on the cross and redeemed them from the law and purified them as His special people, zealous for good works. Does that mean good works will save you? No! You will want to do good works because you believe in God and what He did in sending His Son to be your Savior, redeeming you from every lawless deed Satan uses against you to corrupt your mind and lead you away from your salvation. Jesus is your blessed hope. He is your salvation. When you embrace what God did for the world in sending His Son to die on the cross for your salvation, you will turn away from your former life and take up the cause of Christ Jesus, to live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present time. Don’t let Satan deceive you with many religions that lead you away from the truth. Turn to the truth found only in Jesus Christ and live in righteousness and holiness to God. Jesus said: John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (NKJV) Acts 4:12 “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” (NKJV) Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. Embrace Him and live both now and for eternity. Let’s pray: Father, keep me from vain philosophies that take me away from Your truth and keep my mind on You and Your salvation found only in Your Son, Jesus Christ. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. "For he that is not against us is for us." Mark, chapter 9, verse 40) With all of the various religions out there, if they still advocate for God, and his son, they must be doing some good, and yet, you are right too, many such religions, preaching only half-truths, with their own half-baked interpretations of scripture can lead people astray too. I was involved in a few such religions before, and their ideas are usually way off the truth, but they can fool people, because on their surface, they sound good. Yes, we need to sift through religions keeping close to God, and strengthening ourselves with prayer, so that we can discern the real truth, and not be fooled by half-truths.
