Today's trip to the little Tesco.

I've just been to the little Tesco. I started to get ready to go to the shop. I went to the toilet and then I went to get Mum's shopping list and money and stuff. She was still writing her shopping list. I needed to go to the toilet again. When I was still in there my Mum shouted to say that she was going over to see Tony and Vanessa, the people who own the house that was on fire, because they were at the house. She took a Christmas card over for them and she was going to see how they were. We don't really talk to them much. I came out of the toilet and watched Mum as she went over. Their door was open, but Mum still rang the doorbell. Vanessa came to the door with a torch. (The tarpaulin over the roof actually covers the whole house, so no light is getting in through the windows, and obviously they have no electricity at the moment. (Obviously a battery operated doorbell!)) They were talking for a few minutes, then Vanessa helped my Mum back to our door. I went and opened the door and said hello to Vanessa. My Mum told me what Vanessa had said. The cause of the fire was a workman using a blow torch! Yes, you heard right! He caught something, and the whole place went up! They were going to have the front plastic because at the moment it's wood. The irony! And all their furniture and things are on the lawn between the tree and the house so we can't see them, and my Mum said they are all blackened. It's a bungalow, so the roof is only just above the living areas, so everything seems to have been affected. My Mum says they've been staying at a Holiday Inn, and the house might not be ready to move back into for 6 months! I said, So they're going to have to spend Christmas in an Inn, and my Mum said, No, they've probably got relatives they can go to. But she says they are very nice people, and it's such a shame. So my Mum gave me her shopping list, club card and £50. She said it was starting to spit with rain, so I thought I'll just get there and get back as quickly as possible. I set off, and it was spitting with rain, so I rushed to the shop as quickly as I could! When I got there I didn't need to get any TV magazines because we've already got the Christmas double issue. I got some kitchen roll. Then I went and got a bounty bar for my step-dad, and I looked for some wagon wheels but they didn't have any, so I got a KitKat instead. Then I went to look for some Shloer (non-alcoholic wine). My Mum said try and get one bottle of white and one bottle of red or rose. Or if you can't get any red or rose, two bottles of white. At first I didn't think they had any, but then I saw a single bottle. I thought it was the only one, but then I saw another one right at the back. So I got the last two bottles of white. They didn't look as if they stocked the red and the rose at all, and we can't seem to find any in the big Tesco. I wanted to get some bananas but there was a shop assistant in the way with one of those big cage things full of stuff so I said, Can I have about 3 small bananas please? So she pulled 3 bananas off a bunch of 5 and I said thank you. I then went and got some strawberries. Yes, I managed to get some strawberries! But then I realised I wanted some easy peelers, and the lady with the cage thing was infront of those aswell! So I went and asked for some of those aswell and she reached some for me. Then all I needed to get was the milk, then I went to pay. I packed my trolley then I asked for 8 first class stamps for my Mum. It came to just over £34. When I came out of the shop, the rain had gone off, so I didn't have to rush home so quickly. I got home and told my Mum all about it, and gave her her change, stamps, club card and shopping list. Then I unpacked the groceries and put them away. Now I'm watching Homes Under the Hammer again, but it's almost finished. Afterwards I'm going to put Sky Arts on, because Andre Rieu is on with his Christmas concert "Home For Christmas." What are you lot getting up to today? I hope you are all well. Have a nice day.

Yes, I know what you mean. But if you have a Tesco club card you can get some items a bit cheaper, and you get points that can mount up and then you get discount vouchers and stuff. There are other supermarkets also that are more expensive than Tesco.

Lucky you. I would have liked to have got some red, I prefer the red, but they only had the white in our Tesco.
