...crossing his arms in front of the camera. He seems not to be in the mood and is even late entering the class with me. I just felt that he was trying to be in charge during the class, and take note that it is early in the morning. I might be grumpy, but not like this.Well, I am not intimidated if a student uses body language that can be offensive. So, I took the time to focus on his weaknesses. While having the class per se, I am bombarding him with a lot of grammar errors and mispronounced words on the chatbox. In this way, I was able to tame him. How do you handle your grumpiness? I am terrible with handling grumpiness as I tend to take it personally. But what I do is try to stay patient and not give the same grumpy vibe.

It is a good thing that I maintain my composure and ignore his rudeness. Besides, I just need to endure a 25-minute class online with him. In addition, I do not want to ruin my day because of his existence today. I personally think that people should learn how to handle their emotions, especially if they are dealing with others. It is the best anger management 101 for them.

@Shavkat You are right! But sadly not everyone is equipped with high EQ or Emotional Quotient. A lot of our patients here are quite grumpy.

@flapiz I am also in the medical field and have learned how to be calm and empathic with different groups of people. But then, there are times that we cannot hold back our emotions if things are hitting us below the belt. Being understandable cannot be guaranteed if you have dealt with them so many times. It is not for me to be considered a martyr for the sake of being patient.

Maybe that will keep him from having the same attitude again.

You did a good job on that student of yours. I do not know how I would handle anyone who is in a bad mood

I guess I learned to be calm and patient through the years of being a virtual teacher. I may not be perfect because I can snap out, especially if they are really disrespecting me. It is a big NO if they shout at me without any valid reasons.

I pity him if he cannot control his grumpiness. He might see my evil side.
