I can't wait for Jan to get here in reguards to my
2 different appts with the sugar dr's to get me on
the right path of getting my sugar in the right place.
I found me a microwave steamer to cook my veggies
& meats with being it sounds a lot better for me & my
sugar, starch, fiber, carbs intake when I eat or drink.
I don't guess I'll ever get the insulin right which really sucks
I just HOPE & pray I don't go on a insulin bag cause of
how long it's been since I've been out of the hosp (5 mons)
I also found me a purse that I can put all my meds in
to have them with me when I'm out & about paying bills
along with a med size ice chest to put my drinks & food.
Today is a rest day of a all week going to Dr's & hosp &
therapy that I'm taking advantage of taking me a nap
cause I've been up since 7 am this morn & a little tired.
Do you steam the food you eat for your health issues?
I love boiled chicken but tonight I'm going to try it steamed
I should like it IF I do it right & be a lot healthier for me too.

I sometimes use an instant pot its called to 'steam' veggies yeah.
But sometimes I don't want to wait that long so just throw them in boiling water and cook fast.
I do cook chicken in the Instant Pot too.

@RebeccasFarm Me too, I'm not a big fan of waiting

@2ndchances24 You sound organized.
I have a pill minder on top of my computer. Even with it there, I forget to take the PM meds. Most of them are supplements I need, but I have my Eliquis I need to take twice a day.

@just4him I'm on Elisquis, they told me
it's a life long med I'll be on, & the heart
meds I'm on, is another 2 meds I'm on.
I've gone off to bed & forgot to take them
but I didn't feel any different from not
taking them either.

Yeah I take my meds 2 X's a day but I still like them
to be with me incase something happens & don't
have them, my main 1's are my insulin pens &
sugar tester kit I have made up of the stripes &
stick pin, & needles, along with my 7 day med box.
God has helped me find the steamer at the thrift
store, & a desk small caddy thing that has 3 slide
outs for the extra stuff on my little table I have by
my recliner & it has made a BIG relief to have it
I have more space on my table now for other stuff.
Like a glass or bottle of drink & a plate or bowl of
food without having to move everything to make room.

I have a air fryer, counter oven we cook in, just haven't
used the air fryer part YET, I'm trying to find the BEST
way to cook the foods I'm eating with less cooking time.
So I guess I need to find me a hardback on diabetic
cooking, meals, snacks, which I have been watching
stuff on the matter on you tube, but how do you really
know what to trust B-4 I've seen a diettionist, am I right?
I'm just getting up from a 4 hr nap from a small breakfast
Took my sugar test & guess what I SEEN? (183) I like that
so I hopefully doing something right. so yeah fingers crossed.

I have an appointment coming up in January too, but it has to do with employment rather than medical stuff. My next medical appointment is the day after Christmas!

@TheHorse If you want to live longer & healthier
maybe it would be wise to eat better, specially
if you are a diabetic that REQUIRES better eating.

It's pretty good & it's less fattening cause it gets all the grease out of it
I'm fixing to go boil me up some in a few mins & call it a day, I got a
total of 14 mice caught in the live trap today.

I think I finally got the bug out of hubby's butt cause he's really
on the job of getting the ceiling done in the bigger part of the
cabin, where he's doing it in sections. the vapor barrier then
he goes behind that with putting up the boards he precut &
when he runs out of vapor barrier he'll put more up & do
the same thing with the boards & it's going a LOT FASTER.
