I think the toffee is a failure

I have it in the fridge to chill but it doesn't look like it is firming up. The candy thermometer wasn't working and I think I threw my meat thermometer out a couple of months ago. I'm going to give it another hour in the fridge but it isn't looking good.
Oh well. I ordered both a new candy and probe meat thermometer. they will be here on Friday. I will give it another go then.

We all have something not turn out quite like we planned it once in a while. A friend asked me the other day if I thought she should make divinity as it was pouring down rain. I did tell her that I never made it when it was wet and humid outside, as mine never turned out. She made it two rainy days in a row, and both flopped. She said, the old wives' tale about that is evidently true!!
