First weekend of 2024... before I forget about it

Good evening from this side of the planet 
. It's past 8 PM here and I am in the weekend mood
. Yay! It's the first weekend of 2024. Time really flies.
And it's my first post of 2024. So, I take this opportunity to formally wish all mylotters a Happy 2024. Hope you and your loved ones have a wonderful and blessed year. 
. I sincerely hope that this year is a peaceful one for World too.
I couldn't reach the payout again and I have balance carry forward from last year 
. I couldn't be active as we went for another short getaway to celebrate our year end and welcome the New Year. Well, one can't have everything that one desires for .
It was good to be back to work after a ten days long break. The first week was great at work.
Posting here the picture of my dress that I wore for my Pre Christmas party and some of friends here wanted to see it. Sorry about the condition. I just took the picture of it before washing it with hand today. It looks better when ironed . But I might forget to click it. So, just clicked it anyways before I forget about it. It's Chikankari handwork work on hand woven silk.

I have it for almost a decade. The care instructions say Dry Clean only. I did get it dry cleaned for the first two times. Later I started washing it with hand with a gentle body soap. It's been working well. I don't squeeze or rub it harshly. A gentle wash and then I hang it straight on the clothesline to dry. I don't rinse it

@arunima25 I would be scared to wash it.. but I am glad you are able to..yes the dry clean may be expensive..I never like dry clean for me due to any chemicals used. It is a treasure then if you had it for over a decade.

@RebeccasFarm For most of the clothes that come with the instructions of Dry Clean only, I dry clean them a couple of times to start with. Later, I use gentle body soap solution to wash them and hang them without rinsing. The water keeps dropping for a while and slowly they get dried. It has worked well for my clothes. Only the heavy woolen, blazer etc go for dry clean.

For the first time in months I did not reach payout December was a hectic month for me
That material of your dress needed a dry clean I am sure, Hope it stayed good after you hand washed it

I have not reached payout in the last three months. But that's okay. I had more money coming from offline obligations and other sites.
You had a wonderful December with something very good keeping you busy. So, it's okay. You will have a fat amount next month

I use Johnson baby body wash. I don't scrub or rinse. Just wash with gentle soap and hang it in hanger to dry. The water keeps dripping and it dries slowly.
I only send heavy coats, blazers, some expensive sarees etc for dry cleaning. For few such dresses, I have managed with hand wash

Thank you. It really is classy and elegant. My mom got it on order from Lucknow. It's all hand made and hand embroidery. It's been with me for almost ten years

@aninditasen Yes, Chikankari is very popular. I too have one saree with Chikankari work. My mon has few of them. And I have already declared that I am going to inherit it. My bhabhi and I share our sarees

I hope that too. I have missed payout in the last two months. Good things are keeping me away from here. So, no complaints about that. We always have another month. Hope we both get to add more to the carried forward amount and get a decent amount next month
