My Rating **** Genre – Horror/Slasher/Sci-Fi Run Time – 146 minutes Certificate – 18R Country – USA Awards 7 – Wins and nominations = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Hollywood have made a LOT of slasher movies over the decades and so something new in the genre is always worth a heads up to you guys to take a look, Totally Killer is that movie. Its watchable as its seeded with a feminist slant that doesn’t alienate the viewer and some time travel thrown in to make it rather unique in that world of American horror. ===The Cast=== Kiernan Shipka as Jamie Hughes / Colette Olivia Holt as teen Pam Miller Julie Bowen as adult Pam Hughes Charlie Gillespie as teen Blake Hughes Lochlyn Munro as adult Blake Hughes Troy L. Johnson as a teen Lauren Creston Kimberly Huie as adult Lauren Creston Liana Liberato as Tiffany Clark ===Plot=== 25-years ago in the small town of Vernon, USA the infamous ‘Sweet Sixteen Killer’ was running amock, his three teen victims stabbed 16 times on their 16th Birthday. In the present day sassy modern teen Jamie Hughes (Kiernan Shipka) is out on the town as her mom Pam (Julie Bowen) warns her of the dangers and to stay safe. Mom survived the Sweet Sixteen Killer’ but the memory has never gone away. Well he is back and she is no longer, cut down in a savage attack in their home while the family are out. Mourning their loss she ends up at a local fairground where the killer is there waiting, chasing her down to a photo booth, that just turns out to be a time machine of sorts, spinning her back to 1987. Rather blasé about this stunning twist of events, she sets about correcting things and hopefully taking out the killer so he/she can’t kill mom the in the future. But first she must stop the three killings that have already happened. ===Results=== This is definitely superior to most American slasher teen horrors. Its sassy, funny and just gets that balance right between gory and sending up the genre. It plays on modern feminist attitudes going up against the clichés in the genre, which works well, and Shipka spot on as the time traveling’ hottie’. It deliberately steals heavily from Back to the Future and has that snappy dialogue that makes these horror films stand out. The gruesome murder at the start throws you a little on whets to come but settles down nicely as it plays with those horror tropes. If you want to watch an enjoyable and contemporary teen horror then this is it folks. ===RATINGS=== Imdb.com – 6.5 /10.0 (k votes) Rottentomatos.com –87% critic’s approval Metacritic – 62% ===Trailer=== https://www.imdb.com/title/tt11426232/

I don't like horror movies but the time travel to 1987 makes it more interesting.

As thrilling as it sounds I am not into such horror movies. I would rather see something like a vampire attacking someone knowing there are not such things,
