We got some snow today, and now it's raining.

They were calling for the to six inches but I think we got about an inch and a half. Hopefully your got some too, Valerie. I waited to shovel which might have been a mistake because by the time I went out there it had already started raining and the snow was very heavy. Prior to doing that I had a nap and before that I ate a salad. I got a bunch done today, a load of laundry, and ran the dishwasher. I also worked a bit on our business bookkeeping. I got the forms ready to send to the IRS for our quarterly employee taxes and also the futa tax for the IRS. And I did the state unemployment for the last quarter. I also played around with a porter t journal that I'm in the process of making. Initially I found some images on pixabay. Then I thought I'd try an AI app that I put on my phone and I like that image even better. I have to finish the cover and then work in the interior. Before I continue working on the journal I need to look through my files of what I sent in for employee taxes for last year. I'm usually the one that does the W-2's for my employees, but ssc changed the way your log in and it's very confusing. My accountant will do that for me this year but he wants to make sure my figures are accurate and wants my files to double check. I was hoping this week to get back to setting up my husband's website for his book that's published on Amazon, but I'll wait in that until next week. I want several days to mess around with it. One day this week I need to finish one window job on the inside. I did the outside in November. And Thursday my cousin and I are going to Applebee's for lunch, her treat. If the weather and roads are manageable. Ps. I may do a collage later of the above pic and the pottery image I'll be using for my next journal.

I wanted to do a lot in case we lost power. But thankfully that didn't happen.

We had a little snow yesterday, the cold days are around the corner. I hope the roads are manageable, so you can be treated at Applebee's.

We are waiting until next week to go to lunch since it's supposed to continue snowing most of this week. At this point, next week looks drier. Course that could change by then.

We got 3.3 inches, so twice what you got. It looks good. I think we were in the same storm. It looked that way on the map. I don't envy you working on the taxes for your employees. It is a good idea to let your accountant handle it. I hope you have a good lunch today with your cousin. I like your book cover.

We got more snow yesterday and that was an additional three inches possibly. More is expected tonight into tomorrow but mostly that snow is in our city and bay city which is thirty miles east of us I did read that snow is expected elsewhere in the US like Chicago and Des Moines. We decided to postpone lunch and will try again next week. I thought about letting her know that we could meet today. The only thing is the snow is beginning in Bay City where she lives and if it decides to come early I wouldn't want to get stuck there. Also, I'll continue to work on the basic taxes for my employees and I will see if my accountant will teach me how to get recertified with ssc for the business so I can do the W-2's next year. I only had one regular employee and one that worked a few months so it's not too difficult. Back around 2001-2003 to keep five employees working we went through 125 people. (If I remember correctly). Doing the W-2's that year was loads of fun . NOT!

@just4him when we had a lot of employees it certainly took a lot longer. But, it wasn't new to me so I guess I'm used to doing them.

@MarshaMusselman It's a blizzard today. I don't know if you're part of this system. It's good to postpone the lunch until next week. I'm sure it wasn't fun to do those taxes.

I've never had to shovel snow but it sounds a tedious chore.

It's never been fun. I'm glad I did some last night because it snowed again. We got about three more inches. I shoveled again and then got the snow plow out and did the driveway and sidewalks with that. That's getting tedious too. My husband bought a bigger type snow plow before he got hurt down years ago. I've been thinking r the last few years that we might need to get a smaller model of I'm going to continue being the one to clear the snow away. After today I'm sure of that as my thumb joints hurt while using it.

@JudyEv I've had to shovel snow since I was about eight if not even younger. Using the snow plow is getting harder too. For the first time ever, plowing the other day hurt my thumb joints. If that keeps happening we might need to invest in a smaller blower, one that I can handle better.

@MarshaMusselman It does sound quite hard work, especially shovelling.

It's beautiful until the big plows clear the roads. Then it looks dirty.

@MarshaMusselman the pot image at the corner is also beautiful. I've never seen a photo of when the snow is plowed to see how dirty it is. I've learned that from your comment.

I didn't get as much done for the business as I need to. I still have to go through all the payments and mark them down so it looks like we made something. The deposits are done but they need to be input into my accounting program.

You had quite a productive day. We got just about 6 inches of rain, thunder and winds today. The roads were a mess. The cancelled schools for the day. I took my friend this morning to her eye doctor appointment.

@MarshaMusselman Yes, the high winds and the flooding. We had about 4 inches of rain on Saturday plus the 6 today. Some trees came down but thankfully not on our property.

@Dena91 I wasn't even thinking about the possibility of flooding. We had a lot of rain last month I think but not all at once. Any flooding we might have is usually in the spring after the snow melts and we get the April showers.
