Who Would Want This Job?

Snake Island off the coast of Brazil. There are five snakes per meter. A lot of snakes. A moving carpet of snakes. The Golden Lancehead Viper. One of the most venomous snakes in the world. They have quickly gone through all the available prey on the island until all that is left are birds. This is where evolution takes over. So the more potent venom is to kill the bird and have it die instantly. It is said that the venom of these snakes is 5x as potent as that of inland snakes. Some entrepreneurs unknowingly decided to build a banana plantation on this island in the early 1900's. They burned down some vegetation to make space for the banana plants and came across the snakes. In 1910 they set up a lighthouse to warn people to steer clear of this island. They find a lighthouse keeper who will take the job and he brings his family to the island. One night someone leaves a window open and a snake slithers in killing the entire family. The lighthouse still stands to this day but it is automated. The Picture is courtesy of Pinterest.

I'm not afraid of snakes unless they are poisonous. Definitely would stay away from that island. Have a good evening.

Staying away is key I think.

No. Pass. Never. Not for all the money on the island. I don't like snakes. They can have that rock and enjoy themselves all by themselves. I'm pretty sure ships have successfully avoided the place for many years, don't sound like they need my help at all.

Yep, I read about this island and I say, let those snakes live in peace and enjoy themselves, Hey, guess who should be sent to exile there?

Yes, indeed. A snake is being made to live among snakes. Good one.

@celticeagle I've heard of this place. Anyone who even thinks of going to it is strange. I have a phobia regarding serpents.

Thank you, NO! Mom and I found a snake in our kitchen and about had a heart attack a piece. Mom thought I brought it in as a joke, and when I informed her I didn't she told me to put the family dog (which weight over 125 pounds and was terrified of snakes) back in the car) Some how she got to the phone and called a neighbor man to deal with the snake. He came down, with a shovel, and placed the shovel point behind the snake's head. While he was waiting for the snake to pass he informed us of two things. First he was more terrified of snakes than our dog, and second he still had his service revolver (he was a retired police officer) and he was going to bring it down and use it, but he wasn't too sure how many holes we would tolerate in our floor. By then the snake had passed peacefully and he removed it. We figured out how the snake got in the house and we plugged up the entrance.

Ah, a shovel. Snakes are so scary. I have only seen one rattlesnake and one garter snake in my life. Out in the desert when I was pregnant with my daughter I heard the rattler and went the other direction quickly. The garter snake was handsome black and only a couple of feet long. Saw him when I was down south when I was with the carnival.
