I have been thinking about this concern since my mom's death two years ago. Firstly, I decided to work online because my father got sick and needed to stay at home. It is an eldest child's duty, as you relate to Asian culture. The idea of working offline was not an option when he died because I still have my mom. When she died two years ago, it made me wonder what would be a new career for me. Thus, I am still weighing what to do. For sure, I can still work online as a part-timer even if I decide to work in a physical workplace.
Have you thought about quitting your current position and pursuing a different line of work?

I never had much choices, I just worked my tail off.
But when I got the chance to go to school for hairdressing I did.
Made good money too, was able to afford paying for a house all by myself.
Course this was years ago.
Things are not quite so good now with money.
Good luck to you in your pursuits.

I think that we can plan our life up to a point.
We need certain favourable environments to be able to achieve our plans though, and often we are thwarted, and cannot achieve them.
I ran a secondhand bookshop for a few years here, and I enjoyed it, but unfortunately, times changed, and they have all closed down here, the bricks and mortar stores. I had planned to stay in that job until I retired, but it never worked out that way.
