A resident in North Lake Tahoe California made a minor error by calling his handyman to evict a sleep bear that was underneath the residents home on Sunday. When the handyman whose name was not mentioned did not see the bear underneath the crawlspace underneath the house. The handyman installed bear wires at the crawl space to prevent the bear from coming to sleep underneath the home of the owner whose name was not mentioned. What happened next is that the homeowner later the bear trapped underneath. The homeowner than called the animal rescue group known as BEAR to come to his home to remove the bear wires to get the sleeping bear out of the property safely. Hopefully the homeowner has learned his lesson to have BEAR do the work of removing bears from property instead of a handyman. Link is upi.com/7901705427167 via @upi

That's a good lesson to learn. Are bears harmless?

Bears are sensitive to noises. I would not dare mess with a bear at all costs.

Sounds like the bear was settled in for the winter. Scary stuff.

The bear had been in hibernation at the time when the homeowner found the animal underneath his home.

That is true since I understand that bears need to rest during the winter and the bear found a place to stay in North Lake Tahoe.

It looks like the perfect place for a bear to hibernate for winter. The handyman didn't see the bear before he put in the bear wires to prevent bears from entering. If he had, I'm sure he wouldn't have put them there, but called someone to get the bear out of there safely.

That is likely what happened.

I guess the bear thought he'd found a good place to hibernate.

That is a bearbones story, where the bear was down there hiding, and the handyman was perhaps too scared too look too closely, as he didn't want to confront a bear, and have his own bearbones story to tell, if he survived an encounter with a bear. Perhaps the bear was asleep, and the handyman never heard him. I guess the resident paid for the handyman's work, but I wonder if the animal rescue group were volunteers, or if they charged him for bear removal too.

I think that the BEAR animal rescuers are volunteers.
