OH MAN DID I SCREW UP ! !

i wasn't paying attention to what I was doing & got SIDETRACKED & was trying to set up a 10,gal fish tank for the fish in the 75 gal tank cause it needs to be drained & REDONE. Well with no sink & NO Faucet to use for this job JUST a short hose & a 2 gal pot I have, I decided this is the time to get the job done. So I PROCEEDED to get started & do what needs to be done, WELL I screwed that up right OFF the bat, yep call me stupid it's o.k. I went to fill the pot up & I was setting up the 10 gal tank & got sidetracked & yep it never fails I forgot I had the water going in the pot. When I remembered , I had water ALL OVER the place, OH YEAH what a mess I made for myself, so filling the tank had to be put on hold. After I got the water up off the floor THANK GOD it's a cement floor, & I have a good heater going in the kitchen (CABIN) I started filling the tank. Well now that I got that done, that was it I was done, my back started killing me & my sugar had went WAY down, so I had to quit for the night. So now that I have the 10 gal with water in it & letting it run for the next few days it will be ready to put the fish in when I get ready to catch them. The only thing I worried about is if HUBBY goes in the cabin & see's the floor wet he's gonna be "Why is there water on the floor maw?" OOPS. I don't think there will be any by the time he gets out there, but I got it all up B-4 I left the cabin so MAYBE there won't be any, fingers crossed. I am gonna DREAD working on the 75 gal tank cause it's going to be a HUMUGAS JOB I know but it HAS to be done there's no but's if's or why's. I have rainbow shiners & they're NOT CHEAP so when THEY start acting funny it's time to do something as SOON as I can do it ASAP. But the point of the story is, don't start something & let your attention stray away from what your doing cause it can & WILL get away from you.

Life comes at you fast as the old saying goes. I think we all have tales to tell of times when doing two things at once was a bad idea. lol

I am so sorry you end up with a mess on the floor. It happens that we get distracted by something and then an accident arrives.

Things like these happen to everyone, and all we can do is just be more proactive next time and not repeat that mistake.

@2ndchances24 Sometimes all our mind needs is a reset, it could be sleep or music or just a disconnect from al these things for a while.

No it's not getting any better, I just lost all my rainbow shiners (fish) & now I have to get what's left out of the tank that's alive & put into the 10 gal tank I set up yesterday, & HOPE they will be o.k. I have to get the 75 gal tank drained & cleaned out really good & put it somewhere that it don't get broke till I can RESET it up AFTER the cabin is done where I can, & it not be in the way.

Gee, your day sounds a LOT like mine!!! Or should I say my days. Sunday I decided to scrub my floor, finally. I got the floor swept (from the bathroom through the bedroom, hall, kitchen, studio/living room, and pantry) and filled the mop bucket and got started. I started from the front door through the living room/studio and part of the kitchen when a neighbor showed up at the door and settled in for a visit. The first thing she did was sprinkle catnip on the studio floor-nice mess. She visited for a couple hours. She finally left, and I had an hour before she came back with dinner. She had decided to fix dinner for us. She would eat hers at home because she loves watching the football games and I don't care for them. So I got to sit and enjoy her cooking while she watched. It was good, really! I love Asian food and she fixed some wonderful Shrimp and noodles. I finished the dinner and she went home. I then got to finish, sort of, the mopping. I got Freya's help with the rest of the apartment. Then I got to do some of the other cleaning I had planned, until a good friend called and we talked for an hour. Today I need to do some shopping for her. Yesterday I decided to do laundry and some basic cleaning, until the fridge started making stranger noises than usual. I climbed to the floor (with 2 replacement knees, a broken ankle, and back and neck injuries it is a "climb" to the floor) and took the front grate off the floor vent. The area hadn't been cleaned in years!!!! I cleaned enough stuff out from under the fridge to print a book and knit 5 cats, along with strange food stuffs that I would never have eaten. ICK!!! I will have to pull out the stove and clean the area that's under it. I cleaned under the stove top and it was awful.. Anyway it was a horrible mistake to clean under the fridge. It lead to cleaning the rest of under the fridge. This morning I decided to bite the bullet and get dressed and go to the next town up. That's where my friend lives that needs dire help. She and her husband are on disability income and had more month than money. They weren't frivolous with their funds, but they ran out. So, I'm taking some food money up to them and also getting her a couple of items of clothing. I don't feel like the trip, but... I got up to the apartment being horribly cold (if it rains it will snow) and I wasn't ready to start doing stuff, so I donned my bathrobe and snuggled down in my chair with my tea. Petey, bless his heart, crawled up in my lap for his love session. He usually curls up for a half hour to an hour and a half and snuggle and nap, except for today. He usually curls up and naps and purrs..and yes sometimes farts. Well today, forgive the crassness, he was sitting in my lap and, well, farted. It wasn't just one of his regular killer stinky ones, it was one of his wet stinky farts. He has those on occasion. I said a few dirty words of my own, grabbed some tissues, cleaned up the wet smelly part, and went back and got dressed. (After I flushed the stinky kitty wet fart tissues down the toilet) I have been lucky so far, I haven't misplaced anything yet this morning, but I know that will be on the way. I don't do well on slow waking days that are started rather "ripely". Petey stopped and meowed his apologies as he went back to use the litter box. He's very good about not having the "Wet Farts" first thing in the morning and definitely not on my lap. He's snoozing there right now. I have started quite a few things along the line that I have forgotten or had my attention stray away from it. Your telling about the water and cement floor, I've done that many many times. I do that when I am cooking quite frequently too. It doesn't happen because you're "stupid", to the contrary in fact, it's a sign of intelligence. You have enough going on in your life that you don't have the time to sit and watch a hose dispense water into a container. Your attention will stray because of the fact that there really isn't that much interesting or exciting about water run into a 2 gallon pot, if you find something really that interesting in watching the water flow, let me know. Because I don't think I could sit and watch the water run. You need to cut yourself some slack about the water and the floor. As for your husband, you can't convince me that your husband hasn't done the same thing or something similar himself. Fortunately, intelligence isn't measured on doing simple things like water run into a 2 gallon pot. the day it is, I will quit measuring my intelligence. You just aren't as stupid as you made out to be.
