On 28th January, West Indies made a historic win over Australia by beating them in their home ground at Brisbane by 8 runs in a thrilling test match. West Indies won in Australia after 27 years, and that too with their most inexperienced test team against the mighty Australian test team. Shamar Joseph took about 7 wickets in the second innings and it was just an unbelievable sight to see Australia lose like that. This is the beauty of cricket, on a given day, anything can happen and with this win the glory of West Indies cricket and test cricket has gone high.

Winning after 27 years... that's really historic. I totally agree that cricket or for that matter any sports is unpredictable. It's not the best team that always wins. The team with better mindset and a bit of luck on their side win. We have seen that in the recent World Cup. India was the better team but Aussies had a better mindset on the final day.

@arunima25 Plus India lost the test match to a lower ranked England on a track that is traditionally said to be suitable to the Indian team.

That is why we say that on a given day any team can beat any team in cricket. There is no room for complacency

@avi256 Yes. Any point can be a turning point and turn the game in a totally opposite direction.

Winning after 27 years matter a lot. They must be very happy to win the test match after so many years. I hope with this west Indies team comes up and at least qualify for the world cups.

Absolutely and I also hope these players put their country first and unlike other Windies players do not get lost in franchisee cricket only. The talent like Shamar Joseph or Kavem Hodge has to be taken care of.

Yes a remarkable victory ! Aussies seemed to have underestimated them when they declared at a score of 289, being still in deficit! A great feat by Shamar Joseph. Perhaps it shows that however down a team goes, it always has the chance for resurgence in Cricket.

Surely they underestimated Windies. it shows not only in declaration but also some rash shots they played to throw wickets away. What they never estimated probably was that Windies will eventually score 200 plus runs in second innings

Cricket is not a popular sport in Germany. Hardly anybody knows it. The most popular sport here is soccer.
