If you have been working for a long time and you are at the age of late 40s, there are moments when retirement randomly crosses your mind. So I've been thinking of what will be my ideal time to retire and pursue my unfinished dreams in life. For me, the ideal age to retire is 45 to 50 years old, that age maybe I'm not rich yet but I think I have enough savings and have achieved basic needs in life. Why that's the ideal age for me? because I want to pursue things that will make me happy, I want to go home to my homeland and pursue farming and live a simple life there. How about you guys, what is the ideal age for you to retire?

I retired at the age of 65, that is the minimum age required to receive your pension. The right age is when you are 100% sure that the money you have is enough to maintain you for the rest of your life.

That's true, there should be enough in my bank account the moment I decide to retire because the reality is the higher the age the higher the chance of having sickness , that something I should consider

@cttolledo Keep in mind that we may face high inflation and the actual money would be worth less in the future.

Here the official retire time for women is 50-55 and 60 for men. I think perhaps 50 will be a good time to retire since they can also have their own spare time to relax and meanwhile the occupations will be given to the youngs.

I don't think there is necessarily an ideal age, but certainly there is an ideal time. Live frugally, save and invest wisely, and build wealth to the point where you can entirely live off of what your money makes. Voila! You are retired.
