Cervical cancer and unprotected sex

Recently an Indian model died of cervical cancer at the age of 32. Cervical cancer is usually caused by unprotected sex. Doctors are trying to invent a vaccine that could control this disease as it's number is increasing in India day by day. Do you think this vaccine can control the disease? I don't think so. Earlier when sex was confined to the institution of marriage these kind of veneral diseases were only diagnosed in prostitutes and therefore prostitution was illegal. I think along with vaccine and awareness has to be created to abstain from free sex whenever they want to so that they can stayed protected from this dangerous disease.

What are you even talking about? Cervical cancer can occur any time. Cancer anywhere can occur at any time. Human papilloma virus (HPV) is a sexually transmitted infection that causes genital warts in both males and females. The virus can cause cervical cancer in females who have contracted the virus. There *IS* a vaccine to prevent HPV. I think there are at least 2 now but the one that comes to mind is Gardasil. It has been available for over 20 years.

@aninditasen so maybe it should be promoted in that country. The vaccine has been available for over 20 years.

I don’t think that cervical cancer is protected by having a vaccine.

Is it always because of unprotected intimate engagement? a friend of mine at work also suffered it before she passed away but she never practiced such, and she was a good woman devoted mother and wife. Her husband is a respectable man.

@aninditasen You are just making stuff up now. Childbirth and menstruation do not cause cervical cancer.

@NJChicaa I am pointing on the infection. If there's any infection during child birth or menstruation the cervical cancer cells which has already been there will aggravate. Cervical cancer takes long to get diagnosed.

I think she might have contacted some infection during child birth or menstruation which led to that.
