The Lion painting - Work in progress.

This is the work in progress of the lion.
I haven't really done much to the lion so far.
First thing I did was to paint the whole picture with a dilute yellow ochre. Then I left that to dry while I was painting the villa
When the villa painting was finished I went back to the lion painting which was dry by now, and started painting in the background. I used a mix of raw sienna and white for the lighter marks and burnt umber for the darker parts. I tried to put some of the burnt umber in while the rest was still wet so that they would partially blend together. I then added what looks like twigs or branches to areas at the top.
I've left that to dry overnight now. Ofcause it won't need that long, infact it's probably dry already!

It looks great! I wish I could get you and my niece, Amyra together to talk art. She’s getting ready to enter another contest for her age group at our church association, and she loves to get people’s opinion on what they would draw. I think I’m going to post a picture of the entry she is working on.
I’m just going to get some cleaning done today, as well as send out some cards. I like to send out Galentine’s Day cards to my friends for every February 14th, and then Valentine’s Day cards to my nieces and nephew.
Looking forward to see what you do next!

Well, I haven't painted the lion yet! That's just the underpainting!
I hope you enjoyed cleaning the church. Me and my Mum used to clean our church years ago when my brother was little! Did you get everything you wanted from the store?

@sharonelton Yes, there were some buy one get one free items I wanted to stock up on and thankfully the shelves were full of the items I wanted. That isn't always the case.

Wow! It looks so promising already. I'd love to see the finished painting when completed.
Today is Sunday, 11thFeb 24. Picked all the ripe apples from my 1year-old royal gala apple tree. I had netted them, so the birds spared them this long.
Now in bed resting this sciatic (right leg) pain to heal.

Thank you very much. I'm very nervous about doing his fur! I don't want to make a mess of it! I will definitely post a picture of it when it's finished.
Sounds lovely. We used to have an apple tree in.our garden but my step-dad had it chopped down! 
They were cooking apples though I think and we never picked them in time. We left them till they fell off the tree and by then the maggots had usually got to them. (Yeuk 
)
