2/9/24 - Update on Hubby

Hubby's cousin went to visit him yesterday afternoon. He recognized her as soon as she walked in. She called me from his room; and when I spoke with hubby he sounded as close to normal as I've heard him. He was very grateful for the visit. She is going to visit on Saturday and will take me with her.
In the evening he was hard to understand and wanted to know how much he was being paid. They always seem to be worse in the evening.
I spoke with the woman who is looking to find a place for rehab. She said that it takes 2 people to get him out of bed and 2 people to walk with him. She said that's not something I can do. I told her to pick 5-star places close to home. She is looking into 3 of them.
Thank you for your continued prayers and thoughts. My friends here are solid gold.

This is encouraging news Linda.
I am happy for the positivity. It has been such a long haul, for him, and for you.
If he is lucid during the day, and not in the evenings, I think that is acceptable.
Walking with a 2-person assist means that he is still capable, and that should only increase as his strength does.
Perhaps having him in another facility will improve him on many levels.

@LindaOHio Yes, and that would be determined fully should he return to himself a few days after a move out of the hospital.

Things are encouraging! I hope the VA can help with the rehab if you can’t get him into one close to you. I still worry about medications he’s taking doing that to him, as well as how you’re faring without him there to help you.
