How can we change the minds of people ?.

February 12, 2024 2:50pm CST
I was told many years ago that only bad news sells newspapers. That is what people want to read. The more I hear people talk is they say they don't buy newspapers anymore because they are tired of the same sad stories. Nothing good to read. Now everything is on line. Is there a site with just good stories and good people. I have only seen one good story and it is mixed with ads and bad stories still. Maybe it is the way the world is. I wonder if the more we think about bad the more we subconsciously create more bad.

A famous Italian journalist used to say "Good news is no news". You cannot change the minds of people.

@Itsonlyadream - I still hope that one day we will have a "teleporter" to move from place to place in the snap of fingers.

He might be right. At one time people thought we would never be able to travel into space. Look how far we have come and now if you ask anyone if we can travel into space they would say yes. The minds of people do change over time. Then I like to think outside of the box. Dream big and anything can happen. Thank you for your interest.

It's possible. People are adicted to drama. It's what sells, and it's a harsh reality of life. We need heartwarming to balance it out, but I think what we see is human nature at work.

You are right. I think we can leave all the drama for the movies and share real people without the Gerry Springer affect. Then if people can keep making money pushing the drama they will. Greed and power. The way of the world.

@Itsonlyadream Yep. And it's been that way since the existance of man.

There is an old saying that goes "If it bleeds, it leads." I try to share good stories here on the advice of my relatives which is working well for me.

@Itsonlyadream Same with me in dealing with criticizing others.

You lead the charge. Keep going. I will try to follow. My father use to say if you have nothing good to say, say nothing at all. Now I know why I am quiet most of my day.

@Deepizzaguy I would rather spend my time saying good things to good people than finding fault in someone else. If we look close enough we all have things we are not proud of. We are all human. We will make mistakes. We will try to do better.

The people make up the world. The people can change the world. One word at a time. Thank you for sharing. I once heard no matter what you have or I have it doesn't really matter. Neither of us can take it with us. So wouldn't it be better to share than leave it all behind.

People just have a mind of their own where they like to read about who's doing what no matter what it is.

Good news, bad news. It is sort of subjective, as one man's bad news might be good news to another person, and vice versa. On the other hand, we can sometimes see good in the bad, and bad in the good too. A lighting strike destroyed my phone line the other day, bad news, but in getting it repaired, I talked to several people, and learnt about phone lines, and what can go wrong with them, so good news there, and the line eventually got repaired, so good news overall, despite the initial bad happening.

@Itsonlyadream Yes, if we look for the bright side, we have more chance of seeing it then, too.

@innertalks Sometimes the bad won't leave me. It just wants to shake my brain away.

That is food for thought. I guess there could be a bright side to everything. Thank you for sharing.
