Well, Valentine's Day has come and gone. For those with a special someone, hope you enjoyed it. And if you didn't, you can still enjoy the half-priced chocolate before it's too late. (just kidding) Anyway, let's keep this "love fest" of "love-titled" songs going for the rest of the month. Just like the summer of love in 1967, I'm declaring February love month. So here are my next selections to enjoy and solve. Comments, musings, your own favorite "love titled" songs and trivia always welcome... ***GAME OF LOVE- WAYNE FONTANA & THE MINDBENDERS (1965) I found a video of these guys performing this song on You Tube. You could feel the excitement of those screaming girls as they took the stage to play this Oldies classic. This band was another British Invasion group just like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and Herman's Hermits. Great catchy song which reached #1 on the charts! Give it a listen... TRIVIA CHALLENGE ***Now for our trivia music challenge for those who like to play along. Words in "quote marks" provide valuable clues! See if you can guess the song, artist or facts below... 1. In the music video THE GAME OF LOVE "what instrument" was the lead singer playing? 2. "Somebody to Love" was a song written by "Grace Slick" when she was with her previous group "The Great Society." When "Slick's new band" recorded the tune it became their first hit in 1967. "White Rabbit" was another of Grace's songs off the same album which became a Top Ten hit. This band named itself after a "flying machine" and years later updated their name to "Starship." -Can you name this San Francisco based band? 3. This tune reached #2 on the charts in 1959, and this artist followed that up with one better, a successful #1 song called "Mack the Knife." In this song the person is "hoping for the girl to come for him as he enjoys a pleasant sleep." This popular phrase is often said to someone before they fall asleep, wishing them "sweet ________." -Do you know the singer and his "love-titled" song? Let's make this trivia quiz a "labor of love" when you guess those artists and songs. If you're stuck and need additional hints just let me know in your response. I'll be glad to supply one. Or, as the vocal group The Four Tops would say, "Reach Out and I'll Be There." Thanks for reading and responding to my music post!!! I will return with a new edition in the near future. Hope you can wait till then, lol. Stay tuned... Source- Wikipedia & songfacts.com

Well, I don't know about the other song but I've come to like Mack the Knife for some reason. So Dream is part of the title?? I wanna say the guy is Bobby Darin but I ain't so sure.

Do love that song. That’s a big tambourine! Hope it wasn’t green, that was the Lemon Pipers’ gig. 1. They actually had to make a legal decision on what personnel could use what name. No Grace and Marty, no “Jefferson;” if Mickey Thomas was there it had to be “Starship;” etc. Confused? Me too. Maybe the “somebody to love” was a lawyer! 2. Walden Robert Cassotto and one of my favorites! There are two of his songs on my 100 favorites list: “Dream Lover” and “Things.” How “beyond the sea” is that??
