Yesterday a third egg hatched, leaving Mangos's and Teal's first clutch with 3 remaining eggs with possible babies. We stopped candling them (which is putting a light under the eggs to check for viability. After the first egg hatched with Chandler we stopped with the candling given the fact that the clutch was closer to hatching than we knew. Chandler of course we can tell is the oldest since he/she is the biggest. Sol is next and starting to get bigger and now Venus is named after the fact he/she is the third egg that hatched, the third Pokemon (hatched on Pokemon day), and is a bird time Pokemon. We are keeping to a them of the day/number and gender unsex name for the bird. It's working. If one hatches tomorrow that would be Leap lol get it for Leap day anyways. The first March hatchling will be called Lux for St. Patrick's day which I have know idea what day that is on.

Why do you assume they are chickens? They are not chickens but they do sound like little chicks. Most birds do since they all peep the same way. Even big cats purr, and meow when they are small.

@marguicha I've posted about them before they are my husband's birds, not mine. I do a little help here and there but they are conurs and we don't raise birds. This is Mango's and Teal's first clutch ever and we didn't think it would happen this year but it did. Most captive birds do not lay eggs when they do a vast of time they are not fertile even if you have paired mates. It does go to show that both birds are happy and taken care of. They live in a pretty none stress environment with us having three kids.

Lol, my husband is mostly picking the names with a little help. I named the first one Chandler. My husband picked Sol after I said maybe a name after the Sunday and he picked one that means the Sun. Trying to keep their names working but the first one in March is going to be Lux. All of the eggs will be hatched before March 17th which is why the first one of March is going to be called that. If one Hatch tomorrow that will be Leap since they will not have a Hatch day besides every 4 years.

I hope the rest of the clutch hatches Wouldn't that be a lot of chirping? St Pat's day is March 17.

Good to know when St. Patty's day is which won't matter when naming the March bird that hatches. Yes, it will be a lot of cheeping which we already have with the two parent birds and the three little ones but they are not cheeping all day long just when they need to be fed.
