We All Need a Pal

I just watched a video on YouTube about two cats. A woman that had two cats was getting out and when she passed there was no place for the two cats. These two cats had been lifetime companions and were together all of the time. They went to the pound and were instantly separated. It makes me a little upset with the employees that they didn't let possible adopters know the story of the two and perhaps get them adopted together. Instead, one was adopted and the other wasn't. The one who had been adopted, Mogo, was forlorn and roamed his new surroundings looking for Max. Max was nowhere to be found and Mogo would meow sadly as he searched the house. The woman was saddened by the animal's lethargy and tried different things. Finally, after several different things didn't work she turned the TV on. There happened to be a commercial about the pound that showed some of the cats. Mogo paid attention and the women called to pound. She talked to the young man who had been the one to do the paperwork on Mogo and Max when they were first brought in. The woman went to the pound with a mouse that she had given to Mogo. After a few moments, Max went over to the toy mouse and scooped it up. He could smell his friend, Mogo. Well, needless to say, she adopted Max and took him home. The two lived happily together. But, this shows me that my thoughts on pairs doing better together in the pet/owner world are very true and right. No one should live their lives alone. We all need comrades, friends, playmates, and lovers to give us a more fulfilled life. NOTE**I think this pound, and all across the country should try harder to keep animals together. It should be written in their histories if they came in with another and if they were known to be companions. This story could have been very different if that had been the case. Letting the woman know could have set the wheels moving much faster in getting the two back together sooner. Domesticated animals can't talk, they depend on humans to communicate with them.

I totally agree with you and I am glad Mogo was reunited with Max. It is great that the woman did that because not many would if they were looking for just one cat. I know my Freddie and Morticia are happy and comfortable together, Although from time to time Freddie does smack his sister across the ear just to keep her thinking right

And, it was her first experience having a pet so too many have been overwhelming for her to think of taking on. I wonder if Morticia doesn't get one in now and then too.

@RasmaSandra .......... Our female here, Whiskers, is so funny. She has all male cats around her. She pitches a fit every few days. It's comical because she is this little petite cat and the males are all pretty big tom cats. They walk very carefully around her.

That's why I like having two dogs. I think they need companionship, especially when you have to leave the house for a short time. Have a good weekend.

Yes, indeed. And the authorities should see it that way. Sometimes they do and sometimes they don't.

Many cats don't care but it should be observed before adopting them out to see

I think it is a good rule of thumb. Also, think that most have moments where they are glad to have companions.
