Let’s talk Fear

In the midst of chaos, the silver lining portends hope. How many of us can or are willing to see it? The body consciousness, the belief systems wreak havoc on our minds and we plunge into delirium. Illusion becomes real. Where there’s rope, we imagine snake. Where there’s promise, we see futility. Basically, fear clouds our vision. Somewhere I read, fear is False Evidence Appearing Real. With children, fear of losing their parents, fear of getting beaten by abusive parents, fear of being labelled, is common. Body shaming, bullying, ragging in colleges is termed as ‘Part of growing up’. Even magicians conjure up tricks that might trigger fear. Then there are movies, games that sometimes drive them to do things that affect negatively. With adults it’s losing a loved one, a limb, property, business, life, loneliness, old age, you name it. Mind is a bundle of thoughts strewn in, by the impressions gathered from the five senses. If mind is afflicted, the body will succumb. So, people in power and authority, target playing with the mind. So do common people in day-to-day life. We call them manipulators, opportunists. Often, I wonder, why, as human beings can’t we remember ourselves in the image of the Divine?. I bow down to all those angels in human form, who with their untiring efforts, be it in the family, in the society, in the nation at large is giving their best to inspire, to communicate, to drive sense in us who are fearful. But fear remains. Death, destruction, atrocities, bombing, mercilessness continue to add to the individual fear. At such times, I pray for Divine Intervention. Once we have developed the sense that nothing is ours, there’s nothing to lose, I think, can we overcome fear. For that, we need to sacrifice our comforts and step out from the darkness of illusion in the flames of light. Pic Courtesy: PixaBay
