A concerned citizen called the Naples Police Department on Tuesday February 27 to report a sighting of an alligator that was in the resident's dock taking a sunbath in Mooring's Bay. When the police arrived at the scene of the incident, the alligator decided to leave the scene quickly. No one was hurt in the incident which is good news. The police as well as officials with the Florida Wildlife and Fish Commission are advised everyone not to feed an alligator, keep your distance if an alligator is in sight and swim in designated areas during daytime hours. That would be scary. I would not want to look out and see an alligator any where close to me.

Thanks for sharing! It's good to know everyone was safe in this situation. It's a good reminder to be aware of your surroundings, especially near bodies of water in Florida, where alligators are common.

That is true since in my area there are no alligator sightings even though there are a few canals.

Poor ally was just relaxing and having a good time. I think if I did not have to go in the water or anywhere neat the dock I would just let the alligator stay there,

As beautiful as Florida is, I wouldn't want to come across an alligator sunbathing by my house. An alligator can run much faster than I can

@Deepizzaguy I'm not sure which would be faster but either could outrun me

How could he have access to the area? Who's responsible if the alligator injures the people around?

I am sure that there is someone would be responsible to make sure that an alligator would try to harm anyone.

That's a bit too close for comfort, and you would not want to hang your legs over the side of that wharf.

It is a very interesting story that an alligator would be seen in a water area near a dock sunbathing.
