It just won't go away

Here in the midwest we hqve some warm weather and it has been nice. Sometimes the weather at night has been really cold. it has been in the upper 20s and lower 30s. The cold weather just won't go away. I am so glad w have not had a lot of snow this year. It just snowed once and it was only a couple of inches. It will be spring in a couple of weeks so I think it will be better and a little warmer.

We're having spring-like weather now, although in the 10-day forecast I'm seeing highs in the 60's. Nothing to drastic, but a dip from the 70 and 80 weather we've been having.

When I look at the Map of the USA I just can't imagine anywhere other than Colorado, Utah and Wyoming as being the midwest, I live in the southwest area of TX below Colorado. So, what I'm wondering is where is the midwest that so many people refer to? Ohio maybe or something like that. Please pardon my ignorance, I didn't learn about this when I was in school back in the late 50s through the 60s.
