Happy Day Light Savings and other weird things

Last night I decided that today had to be a special day, and I decided that it was Eastern, Oops, I'm off by 20 days!!! But I convinced my neighbor that today was Easter, so I guess I haven't lost that old 'Cicero' charm. (I'm distantly related to Cicero the orator). I got up this morning to finding out that it was "Spring Forward day. Mom always groused that that went into effect during the war (must have been WWII, she wasn't old enough for WWI) and we really didn't need it now. Anyway, the computerized stuff was dealt with automatically, I just had to do 2 clocks and the microwave. Then the cats got busy and decided to act stranger than normal. Freya started off by racing through the house with every kitty hair standing on end, jumping on my work table, to the kitchen sink, back to the work table, to the window perch and back down the hallway and into the bathtub---proceeding to sing in the shower before she repeated the trip. I was in pain, so I took a couple of pain pills and waited for them to take hold. I finally felt good enough to fix my breakfast, which was French Toast. I buttered the toast and poured the maple syrup over it. I set it on my table and turned to take some pre-food meds. When I turned back Petey was sitting in the middle of my breakfast, on top of the French Toast!!!! I guess he likes maple syrup, he cleared up his huge case of sticky butt!!! I've spent the past few days sorting and getting rid of. Some is going into recycling and some is being donated to the thrift shops. Well I had planned to do my laundry on Friday, one of the sorting days. I'm very careful about how long I take doing the laundry. We are usually allowed about 1.2 hours for one load. I was beat to the washer, so I waited. It turned out the washer went out of order as soon as the gentleman used it, It needed the coin box emptied. (I figured that there was about $150.00 a week pumped into the washing machine) So the box needs to be emptied more than once a month. I had to nag them the last time. They came and emptied the coin boxes, and I was beat to the washer (again). This time the person was kind and put their laundry in the dryer. That was at ! p.m., at 7 p.m. Friday night they still hadn't retrieved their clothes. I put them in my empty laundry basket and moved my stuff into the dryer. I finished doing laundry at 10 p.m I did more sort and get rid of, then heard lots of noise behind me yesterday. The neighbor behind me had a bbq that he either had in a garage or in storage. He had a huge blazing fire...not good for someone paranoid about fires after having her house burned down. I got to sleep at 2 a.m. this morning according to daylight savings time. So, I figured things couldn't get stranger than hearing a faint "MEOW" and finding Freya in the fridge. I still haven't figured that one out. I only opened the door long enough to put the syrup away, and fortunately I didn't leave the area of the fridge, she was very promptly let out with a stern lecture about crawling into cubby holes and strange spaces. She quickly recovered and raced for my chair and jumped up and promptly stuffed her head in my tea cup (which had tea in it of course) and had a nice long leisurely drink of tea (hold the cream and sugar, PLEASE!). I didn't want to schlep around and do nothing much all day so I decided to neaten up my work basket that I had emptied Friday when I used it doing laundry. I went down stairs to my storage unit to get an empty container to sort into...I had just got to the door to the outside when I nearly collided with a neighbor lady. I love her dearly, but she could talk the arm off a statue!!! We managed to scare the daylights out of each other big time. She screamed and the neighbors from behind us were peeking over the fence to make sure no one was being harmed. (They celebrated Daylight Savings by partying until 1 a.m..) I finally got back up to the apartment and as is my habit, I looked for the brats. Petey was in his favorite bed by the window, but what threw me for a total awestruck loss was that Freya was sitting, of all places, in the kitchen sink. She has NEVER sat in the kitchen sink before!!! In between, Petey has been busy on the computer. He has checked my email, somehow pulled up kitty pictures...nothing like a picture of a cute cat to start your day!!!! And, of all things, play a couple of video games on my tablet. The day and weekend aren't over yet, but I'm sure that my furry, whiskered, kitty room mates have something else up their kitty sleeves!!!

I have to agree with you on that, right now Petey has me pinned to the chair and ottoman. My right leg is about to go to sleep and my trying to get it across to him he needs to move is falling on a kitty mind!!!!

@BearArtistLady I felt bad earlier this evening when I had to put Chilly on the floor. I need to be able to bend, move and adjust when giving tube feeds. Chilly on my lap doesn't allow that to happen.

Freya just had to join in. She has a catnip mouse that is wrapped like a taco. She was playing with it and managed to toss it up into my fresh asparaguses. Nothing like reaching with your fork to pick up a couple of spears of asparaguses and nearly spearing a catnip mouse!!!
