Stonie's Supreme Pizza Brats

I happened to be going through Perryville, Missouri a few weeks ago when I went to Cape Girardeau for my dad's open heart surgery and had to make it a point to make a little stop at Stonie's Sausage shop on the way home and get some bratwurst. It is a unique little shop that usually has 25-50 different flavors of bratwurst on sale at any given time. The brats are a bit expensive, really. Around $6.49 for four brats which is about 1 pound. But they are good and it's something a little bit different, and I like what they have and like supporting small and local businesses. So, it is worth it on all counts. Tonight we will throw some on the grill since the weather is perfect for grilling. I bought three different flavors when I stopped and the one we will have tonight is supreme pizza. They should be good and we will have a salad on the side with them. What's going on your dinner table tonight?

If I have brats I just want them to be plain brats. Not sure why. But I do hope they were good. Maybe I missed an update, but I wanted to ask how your Dad is doing, Jim?

@porwest I am glad he is doing well. That’s a tough operation to recover from and it just takes some time to do that. I know you all had to be very concerned about him. I do have to say Wisconsin does have some good stuff. Sometimes when my cousins drive here they bring me really good cheese. I always enjoy that!

Nice! Have fun grilling. Sounds like an interesting flavor for a BW. I'm defrosting a Ribeye and boiling one baby potato. Gonna load that baby up with butter & sour cream. Also really excited to make some organic jello (orange). Just killing some time until the steak is defrosted.. I don't like to microwave it to speed up the process. Something about that grosses me out. Enjoy the Brats and hope the pizza flavor is good.

That sounds like a delicious meal as well. Yeah, the brat kind of tasted like a pizza roll. It was good.

I never eat pumpkin except in a pumpkin pie. But it does sound interesting, your concoction.

@porwest Interesting. Kind of like sausage on a pizza. I know you cook catfish differently than we do, but it's so delicious, isn't it.

Gosh, I do love me some catfish. It's my second favorite fish next to Salmon. The brats were good indeed. Reminded me of a pizza roll.

Sounds like you found a good deal. I had salmon, and a baked potato.

I am not sure if they were a good deal at the price I paid. But they WERE worth it, for sure. As for salmon, that's my favorite fish, hands down.

@porwest I'm glad it was worth it. Mine too. I have more salmon in my freezer than any other fish. I also have cod and pollack.

@just4him I never cook it at home because the wifey doesn't like it. But she has told me she wants to give it another go, so I may get some soon.

How is your dad doing? I had a frozen Meals on Wheels dinner -- Vegetable lasagna, succotash and carrots. Have a good day.

I always make it a point to support local businesses whenever and wherever possible. They were good. This flavor reminded me of pizza rolls. Roast beef is never a bad thing.
