How Do People Live with Hatred and Extremism?

I am listening to a podcast on MeidasTouch on YouTube with a couple who went undercover to infiltrate racists and extremists who hate leftist ideology and democracy. I live in Idaho and there is an extremist group that has lived in Northern Idaho for decades. The country has been indoctrinated into a hateful violent normality that is very scary to me. When violence and extremism become the norm then what is left to us? Sure we want our little corners of the world to be safe and positive for our loved ones. But as people on the right make it seem more normal to be negative and disrespectful toward our judges and even the president then it is even getting into the middle schools across the country. We need to be sure we have open communication with our kids and that they know the difference between right and wrong. They understand that some kids have the wrong idea and their thoughts are not necessarily right. Don't let the bad kids pull in our good kids and make them think this is right or normal. No! Give the good kids love and respect and help them to know this isn't right. Don't let these kids block the good kid's view of a productive and respectable life on the right side of the street. When religion is added to any of these groups it supercharges it and causes hatred and violence. I am not shy about stating that I am an atheist but that truth doesn't mean I don't respect others who are religious and who believe in God. I respect them and their right to practice their faith. But, when it is added to such already hateful infestations around the country it doesn't do anything positive. They are haters and use religion to justify their violence and ugliness. Do you realize that these groups are putting Nazi flags out in front of Disneyland? Do you realize that people are being killed just for sport? Report law enforcement if they aren't going by the laws and aren't respecting others. This is happening a lot in L.A. and other places. Be vigilant and aware of what is going on in your community. This is really happening in our country today. Here is the URL to the YouTube video I was watching:

The world has changed. People aren't raised with the same values you and I were. So, unless something changes, this is the world we have to live in. I just stay out of it, because I'm not one to make my problems everyone elses.

I guess I am one to do that. I just have to get the word out to people and hope they see Trump for horror that he is.

The US has a whole just doesn't seem to care. More than anything, each group/each person, everywhere, want to be right. They don't care about anything anymore except their own needs and comforts and what they want or need. Some are overwhelmed with it all, some don't even try to keep track of what is happening, some are numb, some are dumb...and a ton of them just do not give a...well, you know. We are in a sad and sorry state. We can ignore it, I suppose. But it's not going to go away.

But there are some very good people in among the horrors and we need to fight to see that they stay in office and do good for our country.

@celticeagle There are good people everywhere. Sometimes, we have to look a bit harder for them, but they are there!

It is very sobering to live in a dangerous world of mass shootings and hate groups making their mark in our cities today.

It really is sobering indeed. Scary to think that this has become the norm now.

That's really sad. Religious fanatics shouldn't be encouraged. The same thing is happening in Kashmir. In the name of jihad they are killing the innocent people of Kashmir.

Things are not the same as they were in the 50s, 60s and 70s. Morals and values have diminished in a lot of cases and children are not being raised the way you and I were. It's a sad situation.

They sure have. I feel as if it is time to fight for our democracy and not let those like Trump take it away from us.

I live with someone like that. My father has so much hatred for other religions. Sometimes I hate religion because it made my parents hate each other.

Too much for me too. But, since Trump came on the scene I have had to try to keep up with it. It scares me too badly not to.

Mostly everything and everyone scares me in this world, I know I have to get out in the air at least once a week but with all that is going on I might just keep within my safe four walls and two cats,

I have kept within my safe four walls for quite a few years now. I only come out to keep appointments with doctors and then go right back in.
