Under sea cable damage cuts internet to Africa

March 19, 2024 5:20am CST
The internet is terrible in Africa right now following an under-sea cable damage that might have been caused by natural disasters under the sea. This has put many African countries in serious problems with many banking activities disrupted and other internet-relying services becoming too slow.

It seems that it has not been caused by natural disasters, it has been sabotaged.

Oh, no. That doesn't sound very good. You're right, some people rely on the internet. That's how much the world has changed these days. Do you know if there is anyone from Africa on MyLot?

@ogbenishyna Yes, we do. I hate it when my internet goes down. It does it for a few seconds and then comes back.

A lot of people were affected by this including myself. It was difficult to access so many services that depended on internet, but I think it has been solved now, because a lot of services have been restored.
