This morning sure wasn't boring.

Good morning. The sun is shining and George is enjoying it. However, he woke me up at 9:30 asking for pain medicine. He might've meant his blood thinner, but when I asked him where, he said everything. He could've just slept wrong. I don't know. I brought him tynoal anyway. I was told not to give IbProfien with blood thinner on board. So, I'm not. I also gave him his pill a little early and got his tube feed going. During his tube feed, I get a call from the VA. It was his checkup he gets twice a year (his last one was in octover before the stroke) so now she wants to see him again. And let me tell you making that appoitment was a cluster f, for all the wrong reasons. First, I got the bs speach because I subconcously gave my legal name (instead of my nickname). Then the lady was trying to get George's date of birth, which went fairly well. Then finally the appoitment was made. Then George started asking about thuresday. so, that happened. We kept the friday appoitment. But I'm not to thrilled it's in the morning. Because Getting George up and out of the house is still a chore. He's doing better about his incontenance. And his peg tube dressing wasn't soaking wet this morning. But, there was still some drainage, and it was smeared because it got partly wet. So I changed it anyway. So, that was my morning.

I hated when my tube feed would leak & get everything soaked & I couldn't move & they had to go through the WHOLE mess of getting me cleaned up & the bed changed & it was a MESS.

Well, his tube isn't leaking. There's just a little drainage around the stoma. Nothing abnormal. Peeing on himself is the worst.

@2ndchances24 Because he's a guy, he was connected to a cathader for one month and 18 days. So, that didn't help any.

George wants to spend time in the back, and isn't laying on the couch watching t.v. He came in for a minute, grabbed some Pepsi and came into my office to tell me he wanted to go out back. I'm cool with that.

@kaylachan........I understand. Certain tests have to be done early too.

I do the same when possible. I have learned that when it comes to appoitments, the VA isn't all that flexible.

I think the VA could change its initials to CF (for Cluster F) and be more honest. Actually, lately I’ve been doing very well with them. I hope he gets a lot of assistance from them. Glad he’s doing better with things!

I am thankful for what they've done healthcare wise. I just hate the business side of things. Because it's a chore to get things done. And, there was no way in hell 8Am, would've been an option.

@kaylachan — I know, they offer me those 8:30 AM appointments and I just laugh at them. I’ll get up that early for a colonoscopy, but not a regular check-up.

@FourWalls We don't live that far. And, George used to take the early morning appoitments just to get them over with. But, Getting him up, deressed and peg tube cleaned, takes twenty minutes. Add another twenty for a tube feed. Then not knowing (until I book the ride) how long of a wait it's going to be. As it is, I may have to set an alarm for that morning to get everything done on time. I don't want to be doing tube feeds in the waiting room. And if I waited until we got back, that would really throw off my entire day.

If only people in scheduling knew what I have to go through. His appoitment isn't until May, so I have time to plan how to make it work. He might be a lot better by then, but we'll have to see.
