I just discovered that I´m a dog.

I got out of the freezer the bones I bought a few weeks ago. They did not have any meat but the marrow was much bigger than the ossobuco I rejected. I kept the paper with the bones to know the date. And today, I checked the paper again and the name of the bone was Pluto´s bone. Did the butcher think that I´d give that awesome marrow to Luna? Did he think that I was a dog in disguise? I bought groceries today. And I had fresh bread. So as soon as the marrow was ready, I prepared the bread and salt just in case it needed more. I´ll give the bones to Luna even though I could munch the tiny bits of meat around it. But after all, the bone was meant for a dog. So I got my marrow and she´ll have 3 big pieces of bone. I saved for another day another 3 pieces. I cooked it just like I would have a real ossobucco with meat. It is nap time now. I bought chocolate cake but I´ll have a piece later. Right now I´m enjoying the happiness of those bones. Do you like marrow?

True. But it makes me unladylike. You should know the size of my servings.

Yes. And as they did not have much meat, they were very inexpensive. And what I wanted was the marrow.

Luna will not have a lot of meat on the bone, but she will have fun chewing the bone. I love marrow, I was watching the video of a restaurant and look how they serve the marrow... I want to go there NOW!!!

That´s what Humberto told me. He had gone to an elegant restaurant with his sailor friends and they served the marrow that way. I can asl my butcher to cut it like that the next time. Much easier to eat.

@LadyDuck I´ll ask my butcher to cut both ends to make broth. They don´t have marrow. And I can cook the bone with the marrow for a short time. The marrow takes just a small time to get cooked.

@marguicha - I thought the same, cut that way is much easier to eat. I have to find a real butcher in Italy where I can order this.

I like getting all the meat off a leg of lamb. My Mum always used to say, the nearer the bone, the sweeter the meat.

The marrow is delicious. It reminds me of the time when we could eat brain fritters.

@JudyEv It seems to me that they can´t sell them after the "mad cow" disease was found.

We have purchased beef bones or a ham bone, to make a luscious broth for a meal! Yes, we eat the dogs food(marrow) and then, my dog would get the luscious bone!

@kobesbuddy I did what one of my friends here sugested and places the broth in an ice cube tray before freezing it. So I have just the amount I need either to add to a soup or to a stew.

Or maybe they call it that way. Not many people here eat some of the things I eat. The meat there is tough. But the marrow is heavenly.

You reminded me of the many times I have made soups with beef bones and really enjoyed the marrow, I have not had any in a long time now because I mostly get frozen things for quick meals, Enjoy your chocolate cake,

I enjoyed the marrow, my nap and the chocolate cake. Luna is enjoying the leftover bones. They even had a bit of meat around them.
