Tomato Juice

I love tomato juice. But I cannot keep up with the amount delivered to me through my meals on wheels program each week. There are limited choices of what I can order. I try to give it away, but not many people in this building like tomato juice. What to do? I have so many extra containers. I will be having them taken down to the area we call the free table and hopefully others will take them. We are not supposed to be having a free table anymore but due to lack of management right now, people still are using it. Now is the time. I like drinking tomato juice and there are some recipes where I use tomato juice. But I still cannot keep up. Do you like tomato juice?

I used to use it in cooking but don't like to drink it. I don't get a choice of beverage with my Meals on Wheels. We get milk which usually goes to waste unfortunately.

I use Global Meals for mine. They are the best I've seen. the best foods mostly and lots of choices. Several of us here mix and match, trading what we don't want for those we do. I get milk from one person so I always have plenty. I drink a lot of milk because it keeps my gout under control. I can choose other fruit juices but they are all sugar so I don't choose them.

@capirani We pay $2.50 per meal for Meals on Wheels. Do you mind my asking what you pay?

I should be drinking it but with the contents in it it's not good for me if it wasn't for that I'd drink it.

It is just tomatoes and salt. Thankfully not the seasoned kinds.

@capirani yea but there's stuff that I can't have in it that's not for me like the salt.

I am not a fan of regular tomato juice but I do love V8 juice with added vegetables

I am the opposite. I only like straight juice without extra seasonings.

It is just recently I came to understand that boiling tomatoes helps it release a kind of rare nutrient not obtainable when eaten fresh.

It may also kill other nutrients.

Pity they are trying to take away the free table. Here, everyone puts it, whatever they don't want or want to donate in the laundry rooms on the tables. I like tomato juice but I can't have it..the acid doesn't agree with me anymore..or tomatoes either.
