Churchill and me.

It’s good to be home after being away. Of course I got a bit absent minded on the drive back and headed for our old home in Belfast rather than for our new home in Larne. Along the way we stopped off for lunch in Carnlough, at the Londonderry Arms hotel once owned by Winston Churchill.
He keeps on cropping up in my life’s itinerary, does Churchill. He used to stay at my favourite hotel in Alexandria, Egypt, where some of his paintings still hang.
We had a great lunch, watching the goings on at the harbour while a log fire warmed us. If I had known we’d been so close to the fire I’d have brought some wet underwear to dry in front of it - some of you will recognise the reference, others will think me quite mad.
I noticed too that there is a residential watercolour workshop running soon - one for @sharonelton ? I wonder if that ties in with Churchill’s penchant for watercolours?
Anyway I’m home.
