Are you comfortable talking about politics or it brings you negativity?

Maybe because Parliament elections are in 3weeks here but in general, i don't like politics or talking about it. I feel about it the same when a person is bitten by a snake, for example, very close feeling to it. How about you?

I avoid, I noticed that when someone likes a candidate if you dare to criticize this brings to arguments. Better to avoid.

@grenery8 I noticed the same and then, no matter what you say, if they are fanatics they will never accept a different opinion.

@LadyDuck precisely that and if it is a happy occasion, then the atmosphere becomes awkward, people stiffed, nervous, all ruined.

very wisely said. i feel that i can't recognise some people, they totally change themselves in the name of politics.

That is a topic that brings so much division to people. People who would normally get along start tearing each other to pieces with politics. And religion is another one that does that.

I am not comfortable and hardly take side for any of the politicians. It looks like all are playing their games.

they really act like that and, later, when people don't see them, they eat and drink together

I don't see how it correlates to being bitten by a snake unless you're afraid of snakes and want to run and hide when you hear about it. I think it depends on who you're discussing politics with. My husband gets overbearing so I only talk about things with him if I agree. I agree with his point of view on certain things but not all. My sister recently asked me who I was voting for and we both stayed level headed. Most times it's best to steer the conversation away from politics and religion.

yes, both politics and religion are very sensitive and, as you pointed out, it also depends with whom are you sharing your thoughts. i like ordinary snakes but political snakes never

@grenery8 that happens too in my country. The old government does that when nearing election hoping to get more votes. Then after elections they do terrible things and make bad decisions that affect the people.

@mildredtabitha yes and all they do after elections is talking rubish about people before them, while doing nothing. when elections are over here, i think i could breathe again

it is like the most evil thing ever. i feel sick when old government does something for people just right before other government takes over; it is sloppy and not honest at all.

Things have gotten so polarized it is almost impossible to have a sensible conversation about politics
