What an afternoon.

Well, I should say morning considering it's after 1 Pm and I'm just now getting to posting anything. My back is killing me, which isn't helping. It's also why I'm on the couch instead of my office. George is listening to Clumbo, and I'm tuning it out so I can focus on typing. More and more, George is starting to act a lot like himself. He wants to drive again. Which he will. It's just taking time. We're trying to cordinate all the specialists he's supposed to see. Most everything is in ORlando, and even if we could get a ride he won't get on the interstate. When I mention it, he always says 'not going to happen'.

I'm sorry your back is hurting you. I hope you feel better today. I worry about the day my husband says he wants to drive again. Have a good day.

Take that day as a blessing in disguise. I know you're worried about him having an accident on the road, but him talking about it,shows he's feeling strong and not ready to give up yet.

@LindaOHio He'll get there. It's just going to take time. George had been in hospitals and in-patient rehab for a little over two months. We got out on a Friday. And, I was so happy to have the weekend to ourselves before home health showed up as well as doctor's appoitments. We no longer need home healt, and now it's just doctor's appoitments which aren't as bad as they sound. Hell, our next one isn't until the end of April.

I hope that Gorge will be soon allowed to drive again. Orlando is not very far but not really close to Daytona. We went to Orlando several times and I remember we drove to Daytona from there.

It's an hour or so, give or take. Only we have to get on the interstate. And, even for a short distance he's not interested.

@LadyDuck I don't blame him. If something were to go wrong, I couldn't take over. And, George isn't as young as he used to be.

Getting on the interstate makes him nervous, even if someone else is driving?

Especially if someone else is driving. He's not in control, he's not making the decisions.

I kind of don't blame him with those interstates, sorry your day is so crazy. I hope your back will work itself out very soon..I know how limiting that can be.

I have a desk I can put my laptop on and I can type just fine. Pain meds help with the back.

I hope your back feels better, soon! That's good to hear about George, minus the reluctance about driving to certain places. I can see that being a bother though, driving through Orlando area. I drove through that general area, January of 2023, a few times with my parents. We were vacationing in the Tampa Bay area, and did a few things in mostly central and northern Florida. But yeah, Orlando strikes me as a high-traffic area, I am sure having Disney World there must not help either.

@dilleo He doesn't mind as long as it's local care.

You have Disney on one end, Universal on the other. So duel hit. And, yes, it's in the lake Nona area the big hospital as at. It's just to far. Every time I bring up being told we're needed there, I get 'not happening.' And, he has the right to decline care and or treatment.

@kaylachan Ooh dang! I see I see. Yeah that is very true, as well. I hope maybe he will come around, and change his mind.

He won't let anyone get on the interstate when he's in the car or he won't when he's driving again? That's great that he's feeling a lot better. And he's watching the odd detective, I'm guessing? If so, it's Columbo. We've watched that many times in the past. If it's another show then I've never heard of that one.

You were right about what he's watching. And, George just plain wants nothing to do with the interstate. He doesn't want to be on it, and risk getting caught in the rain or into an accident. And, he's more nervous about it, if he's not the one driving because he's not in control. so it's kind of both.

@kaylachan I didn't like driving in the rain in the interstate either especially at night. If the lines were illuminated that wouldn't be as bad. I can manage it in the daytime though.

@MarshaMusselman George doesn't like driving at night either. He doesn't make a habit of it.
