I just watched on TV that on March 26, 1911, the great drama author Tennessee Williams was born.
I did not know much about his life but lately I have watched classic black and white movies based on his plays.
I have watched "A street car named desire" and "Cat on a hot tin roof", both movies that I had not watched before because I was a child when the movies were in cinemas.
Today the small documentary was centered in Williams´ life. He did not have a good one in spite of his fame.
I am sad that so many celebrities have Not so good lives. And many of them end up commiting suicide or getting killed by all sorts of pills that they should not have taken.
Have you heard about Tennessee Williams?

Now there is a new channel here that only shows old movies. This last month I saw both of his plays in movies. In one there was a very young Marlon Brandon and in the other the main character was Elizabeth Taylor.

@Fleura There are many old movies that are too old now. But I still remember when I watched Vertigo decades after it was made and it was as good as new.

Sure I have and have the video of A Street Car Named Desire. Great performance by Vivien Leigh who played Scralett in Gone With the Wind,

Oh, yes. I'm a southerner and he's regraded as one of the greatest southern authors.
He was from Mississippi, not Tennessee, though.

He was a great playwright in his time. I myself feel that he is a little outdated now.
