Well howdy doo and welcome to a new week! There’s some sun thing going on tomorrow, I hear. (The path of totality is about 30 miles from us.) So the sun won’t be shining bright on my old Kentucky home for a couple of hours. Here’s another song from 1954…that’s seventy years ago! Yes, it’s country, so LINDA? NO!!!!!!
If You Ain’t Lovin’ (You Ain’t Livin’) - Faron Young
Some of you George Strait fans might recognize this song from his version in 1988. There’s not a lot of difference, because that’s one great thing about George Strait: he doesn’t “rock up” country classics.
I love Faron Young’s music so much. He, however, was a rather unlovable character. I’ve detailed that in various discussions previously about him.
I’ll focus on the great music he made…like this one.
If You Ain’t Lovin’ (You Ain’t Livin’)
Written by Tommy Collins
Recorded by Faron Young
Released as a single, 1954

Some great music is found in this man’s discography, and that is good philosophy!

I don’t think American country music translates very well outside of the United States.
