We bought this flower plant from a nursery keeper when there was no flower on it. Now, there is a flower on it. We never had one like this. The son said the plant was an imported species from south east Asia, Indonesia or Singapore. Well, that definitely raises its value. For me it has a value of different kind. What is its name? I must bang my head to recall it. Still it escapes my mind! For our own convenience we call it " yellow joba". Joba is Bengali for hibiscus or China rose. If you know its true name , do tell me in your comment. It has been fresh for about a week. I hope it will stay so for some more days. Keats says ," A thing of beauty is joy forever". I believe this one will be a joy for a long time.

We call them Hibiscus here in the U.S. I'm sure there are scientific names for them with all the different colors. I've never had any luck growing them, sadly.

This is really lovely and here it is known as a hibiscus too. You can get them in a few different colours and there are single blooms like yours and some are double. Here is a double hibiscus courtesy Joydeep / Wikimedia Commons / CC BY-SA 3.0
